I need a logo for a new website I'm about to start working on - livethepitch.com What I'm looking for: - something simple, clean and crisp - don't use .com or www in the logo. i'm open to all upper, lower, or camel case text. - 3-4 colors (green primary) - this site is about soccer (primarily youth - but not just kids). I would like a soccer aspect to it, but soccer shouldn't dominate the logo. - site will contain player stats, news, and have social aspects similar to some facebook features - must deliver .eps raw file - i'm not a fan of bubbly web2.0 fonts I will choose a winner at 10pm PST on Thursday, April 2. Payment to winner will be made via paypal. Good luck and thanks in advance for your time!
0 iTrader. Do you have anyone here on these forums with worthy iTrader to respect your contest? I'm not being negative towards you in any way, I just would like some solid ground before I begin a $100 logo contest.
@v60-tech - this is the first contest i've posted and i've never purchased or sold anything through this site before. I'm definitely good for it though. If anyone wants to know more about me : http://twitter.com/gerardramos
Some general feedback for the public and private submissions .. I think the 3-4 color scheme may be throwing people off, if so 2-4 is cool .. greyscale is also cool as final colors could be chosen later. soccer is dominating some of these too much. Also - I'm not sure how much feedback I should provide since this is a contest. If you have any questions, please ask them publicly prior to beginning work. Thanks, Gerard
basically people just would like feedback like what they can change for you, colors size images, etc.
You should state whether you tolerate the use of stock images or not (istock explicitly forbids the use of their works in logos). Looking at the entries so far, anyone with a basic knowledge of design will come to the conclusion that the drawings are mostly 100% flawless while little effort has been spent on ideas, font, colors, spacing etc. For the same reason you should only allow public entries.
@herenow - thank you so much for that info. I agree. Only public entries will be accepted. I just checked the istock terms and you are correct. If any of the designs use stock images, they must be royalty free and/or be licensed to use in a logo. @kolgames perhaps some examples of logos and fonts i like will help .. Here are a few sites logo's i like: corkd.com, travelpost.com, hypem.com, purevolume.com, pageflakes.com * i like the simplicity of these some type of font similar to: frutiger, helvitica, avenir, trade gothic
I hate to state the obvious.. but aren't people going to get confused when they come to your site thinking "baseball" and see soccer with a domain like "livethepitch"?
