Hello, I have a weird situation. One of my PR5 sites, which has thousands of backlinks, is slowly being deindexed by google. The site is an online store which is based on a somewhat popular affiliate network. This suggests that the site does not have a unique structure, but at the same time I invested quite a lot of money for unique content and have placed that content on lots of inner pages. No cloaking, no nothing....just white hat seo. For example ...each day it loses approximately 20-50 indexed pages. My total number of indexed pages was 2,800 and now they are 1,400 At the same time I see no change in the serps for the pages that are still index. Nevertheless I lost around 50% of my google traffic which is proportionate to the number of indexed pages lost. I been analyzing my logs and it seems the bot gathers less and less pages and enters the site less and less frequent. My question is: 1. This started happening 2-3 weeks ago. Has anyone seen any changes in the same period of time, and could this be related with some kind of algo change? 2. Has anyone else experienced this type of problem before? 3. Can you recommend me to do something here? This site is of major importance to me and I cant afford to lose it. Thanks guys!
1. As this happened 2-3 weeks a go as you mentioned, did you change something on your site in that time frame? 2. I experienced this when I updated the homepage title 3. I recommend you reverse what you did 2-3 weeks ago. Or get those deindexed pages linked from another site. Hope this helps your seo and site.
was PR growth natively , or you just bought pr5 domain ? if you bought pr5 domain , thats why your website index is falling ... I think it is the reason .
u r facing the sandbox effect by Google..its often bcoz of excessive low quality link building with unnatural speed opposite to sandbox is trustrank...try to get some quality links from trusted sources asap...do couple of press releases for brand name publishing
Google is behaving very strange.. My SEO died too. Few weeks back my site with 9000+ back links wen ton page 5 for its domain key word LOL
Have you recently done any change in URL Structure? If yes, try 301 redirection through .htaccess file.
That is NORMAL! Your indexed pages go down, and they go up. It's like the waves of the ocean. Just wait a week or two and it'll go back up.
No, I havent changed one bit. The site is more than a year old. Was seeing a steady growth in serps, and all of a sudden I see a negative trend for de-indexing. Thanks for the advice, I will think on adding direct links to the de-indexed pages. Well to be honest, I did a large amount of themes sponsoring. Invested quite alot in themes and their distribution. You decide for yourself. If its a natural or unnatural. Its a fact that the site has been very stable and enjoyed good growth over more than a year now. I was asking myself if there wasnt any change in algo which affected these type of links, as we all know how google dislikes them in general. best theory so far. thanks for the advice. sorry to hear about that I wish you a fast recovery! No changes in structure of whatsoever. In fact I was planning the launch of a new site, which has a unique structure. Might I be lucky that these two events coincide and when I do the redirect to see a recovery? Do you think this would help? Well I know that its normal for the total number of indexed pages to vary. But this is different, I tell you. A constantly diminishing figure for the total number of indexed page with a steady and slow rate. It happened today also. I will guys keep you updated. Hope to get through this!
I got this message on my Google Webmasters Dashboard "No pages from your site are currently included in Google's index. Indexing can take time. You may find it helpful to review our information for webmasters and webmaster guidelines." What I did was to submit my site for reconsideration. Now, I have to wait for two to three weeks for their response. But so far, Im still getting traffic from backlinks.
for me its the same way all year round but in larger quantitys , pages get added one week the next other pages get removed, 2 weeks ago my biggest site had 2,300,000 pages indexed today it has 1,040,000 pages indexed. Now as far as loosing traffic goes, well i normally really dont lose any, i see about the same traffic when i have 2 million or 1 million.
Its hard to say without knowing exactly what the website is. Every time I've seen this its been due to duplicate content. You say you've had unique content created on inner pages, but I'm guessing that the 1400 pages you've had dropped did not have quality unique content on them (I'm not talking about madlibbed database generated content, I mean decent human typed descriptions that are grammatically correct). The fact that you're representing affiliate sales on the website, the same data probably dozens or hundreds of other websites are selling, makes it pretty clear to me that its a duplicate content issue.
We have the same problem.. My Traffic died too a while ago after March 30 closing.. I hope its only about PR update side effect..
It is losing index then that would some kind of penalization by Google. You must check that out. Also what are the SERP's of your site if they are also getting lower then there must some kind of problem in your site.
