What is the best theme for adsense in wordpress? help plz?

I downloaded a theme from wordpress and I was trying to add adsense to it but when I did it, it showed up on the side, is there a way I can manipulate the themes to show on top or does it depend on every theme, I know in blogger you can add a widget to go on top but I haven't seen that in wprdpress.

    Thank you

You can add adsense in post (3 ads on index page as well as on each single post) as well. You need to add code for that in index.php and single.php

Thanks for the tip, didn't even occur to me. Can it be HTML based?

Its php mate. You just need to add your google adsense code there in above files where you want to display your adsense ad.

best would be open ur header.php file from ur template directory and place the ad where u wish it to appear.

in case you dunno where to put try analysing the page source of ur homepage and search for the text nearest to which u wish to add ur ad.....and remember the tags nearby that text....and search for those tags in the header file...then paste ur ad code...for nymore doubt u cn IM me..:)

The best theme for Adsense integration? A custom one!

A professionally designed theme that is built around your ads. Surely that's better than hacking an existing theme and squeezing ads into places where they shouldn't be?

Custom themes for Wordpress are the way forward :)

Agreed!! but those who dont know how to create custom themes can customise the existing ones..its quite easier and faster compared to creating from a scratch the whole theme...

If you don't know how to create a custom theme, hire someone who does! :)

Thanks everyone for the helpful replies, I guess I was trying to use wordpress the same as blogger. I think blogger is a lot more beginner friendly but less traffic oriented, wordpress more technical and it has a ton of options to drive traffic to it.

    Again thanks
