why not? i can change the ownership of the .blogspot domain and can transfer it to anyone withing .blogspot network
How can you sell something that you don't own ? I suppose if someone wants to buy your log in and password to administer the blog, who would really know, but technically, you don't own it, nor will they. So legally it's not your to sell.
how is it then i earn money from adsense and affiliate links from something i dont own? or even rent? if you see how websites are evaluated, you will see that its the traffic, monetization, PR and history of the website (content) that make up the value. who creates that? there might be an argument in regards to intellectual property ownership, however where does it say that I cannot sell my .blogspot blog to someone else?
Because they let you use it, but you don't own the blog, Google does. That doesn't apply to free hosted blogs, because you don't own them, so you can't sell them. There is no argument....It say's it plainly in the T.O.S ! 7. No Resale of the Service. Unless expressly authorized in writing by Google, you agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, trade, resell or exploit for any commercial purposes (a) any portion of the Service, (b) use of the Service, or (c) access to the Service. If you want to flip blogs, pull 20 bucks out of your pocket for a domain and some hosting, download word press, and have at it... But you want to use someone else's hosting, platform, template , and the very ad network that they allow you to make money with.....that you didn't put a dime into, and profit from selling it? That's pretty weak.
This is the main reason no one that will take blogging seriously and one day sale the blog should use blogger.com Making a blogspot blog is only to be use for fun not a serious business because you do not own that blog. It's against blogger.com TOS to sell a blogspot blog because you don't own it in the first place.
That is worth repeating..I've been saying that since I had a blogger blog and looked around and saw what was really possible, and everyone jumps down my throat when I do. Blogging on blogger and calling it "your business" is like riding the bus and calling it "your ride".
No, get your own hosting and install wordpress software. No, you can transfer the blogspot blog to others. you just make the other person an admin of that blogspot blog then have them remove you from that blogspot blog. Even though its against blogspot TOS people do it anyway. Anyone caught doing it the blogspot blog will be deleted. Seller will have to give back the money to the buyer and both buyer and seller will no longer have that blogspot blog.
In every walk of life there are people getting away with things that are illegal, black hat, against TOS, Immoral and just downright wrong, and the internet is no different. You can make the argument of "how come these people get away with it ?" in every aspect of life. Nobody can stop you from ignoring the rules or trying to beat the system, all we can do is inform you of the right way to do it so that you don't get into trouble. What you do with that information is up to you. Some people like pushing the limits to see what they can get away with for a buck or two , and others like sleeping at night without hiding and dodging cease and desist letters, or worrying about subpoenas or indictments.
You said the key words right there - "ownership of the blogspot domain" - you do not own that blogspot domain. Google owns that name, they own the server, they own the routers, they own the building, they own everything having to do with blogspot. You can not sell something that does not belong to you.
Wow, didn't fully realize the potential of this until you explained it. Oh man, to think I was building a small blog network around blogger.com, it's quite disappointing. I was hoping to sell my twitter real estate search startup, twitterlistings.org. *oh well* back to teh drawing board... Thanks
You do not own blogspot.com, so you cannot sell a subdomain of it. They are letting you use a subdomain, not transferring ownership of it to you.
There is no possibility to transfer domain ownership. Buyer and seller can never own those subdomains. You know, nobody can change whois records of those subdomains. Buyer and seller just transfer the using of a subdomain. Sellers ask money only for the content and traffic not for the domain. If a seller asks money for one of those subdomains then the buyer can ask for registering the domain under his name.
Most of mine got de-indexed. I wonder if people will still buy a blogspot blog that is de-indexed on Google :/
It will only be possible for you to sell the blog when it is functional and is showing a good viewership and for that you need to get better audience by tagging into facebook and other social networking sites.
