Dunno if this was asked before, but I had a look and could find, so here it goes... Imagine I have a website with a FireFox Referral (or any other referral, doesn't matter now). Now imagine that some1 downloads the software (a company for example) and starts instlling it on more than 1 PC... 10, 20...100, It doesn't matter now. How does adsense work regarding this particular matter? 1 - Bans you for illegal use of the download? 2 - Credits you as many times as the software is installed and firstly used? 3 - Credits you 1 time only because companies have 1 IP only? 4 - Others Any1 can help with this? Should I contact G about this? Thx
I can't see you being paid for multiple installs. I doubt the tracking code would be in the actual software. I could be wrong
I think they will pay you fo rth first download and not for any subsequent downloads from the same IP. You have brought out good point about a company using 1 IP. As you rightly asked, if google might think its click fraud if the employees in the company click on the ADs. Some Guru might give the right answer.
That's where I was going after that. What if my company has got 5000 employes and 3 or 4 start clicking ads?
That will only happen if you told them about your site, or make your site available to them (not a good idea), in which case you are looking at some problems if they share the same IP. Likewise with IP-sharing school lab computers. Since the chances of all those people stumbling across your site at the same time is minimal, a red flag will go up.
I got kicked off AdSense because people from my college network clicked the ads so they thought it was all one person.
Never got a dime from referral button for six month. I can tell you to get rid off the button, its useless...
