PayPal has limited my account permanently, what next?

    Hello
    I have a US-Verified PayPal account.
My PayPal account was in good standing, I had PayPal Credit and PayPal debit card.
PayPal has limited my account because it's reported to be involved in possible fraudulent or high risk, I don't know what it means.
I usually use my PayPal account to buy stuff.
Anyway they requested me a photo ID and a proof of address, I sent them.
I called them today by phone, and they decided to leave my account in a permanent limitation status, and they told me that after they received my legal documents.
So I can't open a new account or even delete my bank and credit info.
Is there a way or chance even a small one to restore my account?
Please any good ideas so I can purchase from eBay, or extend my RapidShare and vBulletin account?

    I really appreciate your help.
    Thanks

when paypal limit your account permanently, then you can't do anything. I don't know what is the real reason why Paypal do that, and when they do that, it mean you're screwed
but, things are not that bad.
paypal check people based on identity. You can open another account with a name which is slightly different from your real name(you can put in you middle name for example), and register your new account in a different address(and that address has to be the same as your bank account address). Then, basically, you are a "different person" in Paypal system. NEVER EVER try to use any of your old information or they can catch you.
I heard that paypal don't do IP check, but, for safe, don't log in your new account using the computer that you usually do
I did that and I have another paypal account now. But, I don't know about your case, you already give them your SSN(you have PP credit card right?). Personally, I will NEVER give out my SSN to Paypal. you can renew your driver license, but when they have your SSN, then you can't come back to PP using your ""real identity"anymore.
You can't delete your bank info, but you can close that bank account
For credit card, just tell the bank that you lost it, they will issue you another one

    Thanks for your useful reply.
I can sign up using another address, phone number, bank account and credit card, and I can put my middle name, but the problem is about my SSN, they have it my limited account.
But I have the right not to give my SSN to them next time, don't I?

unfortunately, you already gave them your SSN, and that number will be stored in PP database along with your identity FOREVER. Everyone only have 1 SSN(if you know how to make more than 1 SSN for yourself, tell me about it). So, next time, if they freeze your account again, you can't do anything other than throw it away and create another one.

This is the headache with paypal now your choice is only two

    1) Leave paypal go to other processor
    2) If you live in US you have lot of choices, really good choices than paypal
    3) Send the legal documents they are in need they may respond

I wonder what you did that paypal resorted to such action? Anyway, paypal can also be so unjust at times. You can always open a new account using a different name or switch to Plimus.

    PP is just suck.

Get another account from different pc. You do not care about paypal suckers.
Just do not have too much funds available.
When you get payment withdraw it immediately.

That's it. They are limited your account just because they can . We should hate and use them just as we use women. :D:D

Paypal are like (almost) free hookers. Use them but don't give them money.

I really do not care - i can open 10 000 paypal accounts if i need. Everybody can do it. We are in control they aren't. Just don't use same IP and the same PC (they have automated system)

Thanks guys for your reply and support.

I can't use another processor for eBay and RapidShare.
I sent the legal documents and I called them by phone, they said "We decided to leave your account in a permanent limitation status".

What should I say if I call them back, they turned me down last call.

I would definitely give them a second call....if you really are as innocent as you appear!

Plead ignorance and just try to figure out what is that particular fact or action about you that is haunting them and accordingly assure them that you would be extra careful in future.

There is anyway nothing to lose, so why not make a second attempt?

I don't know why paypal do this. They keep blocking my account as well but thankfully I have got it unblocked every time. I strongly recommend to everyone never EVER have a large balance in your paypal account!

Just wondering how easy is to switch your IP and PC 10 000 times like you said you can ;)
You lose all your control on the day your money gets locked and you aren't able to do anything because of either the false information that has been submitted at signup or any other action taken that's breaking their terms.

Glad for your replies and support.

I'd call them again, but should I call a representative, manager, supervisor, or ...?

You're lucky, I agree with you.
Always leave your PayPal balance 0 as best as you can, and don't count on PayPal very much for payments.
Google Adwords and other services I'm using have stopped working because I've been using my PayPal debit card to pay my bills and it was limited too with my account, so I had to update all my billing preferences.
Payments by credit and/or debit cards is still the number one.

Thanks for sharing this info. All along I was thinking PP is nice. I guess I have to read their terms carefully. Even then I think they interpret in their own ways just like Google. Oh God, these people don't people ever to remain happy!

I too have moments when I wish there were a perfect alternative to Paypal but there isn't unfortunately. Besides, the more I use it the more I understand what it takes to avoid problems. Just try to do things right, that's all.

    Join the club.

I've just contacted them again, they said that their decision would not change, and they said:
PayPal, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to terminate this Agreement, access to its website, or access to the Service for any reason and at any time upon notice to you and payment to you of any unrestricted funds held in custody for you. You can review PayPal Legal.

    So any opinions?
