I don't quite understand it. It seems that they will be tracking your browsing habits in order to show you ads based on your interests. Fair enough. But.... picture this. A wife goes online and wonders why she keeps seeing ads for gay dating services. Whoops, busted! Since they certainly CAN track you by IP address how do you know that if you visit a couple of "politically incorrect" sites you aren't going to end up on some terrorist watch list? After all, Big Brother now demands that your local library tell them what books you have been reading. We do live in a brave new world.
Geeze, you're right.. I better go opt-out of DoubleClick/DART cookie.. Sadly, many people will be clueless about disabling the Dart cookie and will get busted this way.. hehe..
I would love to know where you came up with the idea that librarys have to report what books you are reading??? Do you seriously think the government have a bunch of people looking over a list of millions of people, (mostly kids) each reading several books???? What if I sit in the library and read the books as opposed to checking out the books? I've visited quite a few sites that the government might not approve of in the past 5 years, and amazingly not one government agent has come to visit me...... You might be instilling unneeded paranoia..... Also you just need to opt out of Doubleclick's Ad serving by visiting the site. Try doing a google search
I don't like the idea of leaving trails and footprint to everywhere I go. It's more like invasion of privacy to me.
Well then you need to do a few things. 1. Do not use a bank any longer. 2, Get rid of all your credit cards, any loans and mortgage if you have one. 3. Do not register to vote. 4. Let your drivers licensee expire. 5. Get rid of your cellphone or other personal communicaton device. 6. Sign off the internet and never sign back on. A simple plan to never ever be tracked, traced, and / or followed again
