For me, yes it is expensive. You can get the same spec or better for much less if you going into PC route. But I do want to get a Mac one day. - Dynashox -
If you think mac too expensive, you still can install OSX 10.5.x Leopard or OSX 10.4.x Tiger in your PC, as long your hardware are compatible.
Macs are definitely expensive than a similar configured PC but die hard fans of Mac sustain the mac business.
Think of all the complaints about Windows. It's non-stop on every forum you visit and every person you know. Now think of all the complaints about Macs. Then tell me the price of Macs aren't worth it. Unlike Microsoft, Apple ensures your software and hardware work smoothly together. Plugging one into another will work without effort on your part.
Depends on how you define "expensive." Out of the box MACs cost more than MS junk. However, if you buy and install everything that comes "free" with the MAC on a MS (Windows) machine, the MS machine will cost WAY more. The other cost, usually overlooked by buyers, is the cost in TIME setting up a MAC versus an MS machine. The MAC can usually be up and running in minutes while MS machines sometimes take hours or days to get running. The same can be said for installing new software. The last software I installed on both my MAC and my MS machines took FIVE MINUTES to get running on the MAC, but after EIGHT HOURS trying to install it on the MS machine I finally gave up and PAID someone US$75 to install it for me. Another overlooked cost is the headaches caused by poor software design by MS. Poor software design has CREATED the massive virus, trojan, etc problems we have today. Last I heard there have been over ONE MILLION KNOWN MALWARE HACKS for Windows while at the same time there have been barely ONE HUNDRED KNOWN HACKS for the MAC OS. That is a LOT of WASTED time for a few measly dollars, rupees, pounds, or whatever.
Mac is quality. Windows is crap. As we all know, crap is cheap, and quality costs more. You get what you pay for.
Microsoft's own new TV ad has a girl say, "I guess I'm not cool enough to own a Mac". So I guess MS thinks only cool people own Macs. btw, 50% of all college students own Macs. At both my sons colleges, everyone they see uses a Mac. Interesting.
