Adwords content network more time-consuming than search?

    Hi all,

I certainly beleleive that there are quite a fw AdWords gems out here and I know quite a bit of using Adwords myself. Only this month I started hitting the content network a bit heavier and I must say: in some cases content is outperforming search! *Surprise Surprise!*

Another thing I found out was that setting up a decent campaign (100.000+ impressions and hundreds of clicks) is more time-consuming than setting up a campaign for the search network. Of course, with search campaigns you can predict traffic a little bit by looking at search volume.

    What do you guys think??

    Thx much!

it depends on kind of products and services being advertised.
some of products and services yield very gud result from search network and some from contextual.

If you product is a well searched item then you'll have no problem getting traffic, however the impressions campaign would be tiring but it could be worth it in the end

the main advantage from content is the low price of the clicks but there's a reason for that. on search, you target customers that are actively searching, probably in his buying cycle. that's the reason why cpc is a lot expensive on search. but there is a method that allow you to get that kind of traffic through content network. take a look to this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=11021468#post11021468

ya thats works folks, contant is also the main thing in acheving traffic to your site.
it should be Simpel and should be built according to targetting area volumes.
it will help you in reducing your bid

First of all, I'm not interested in buying anything from you. Secondly, we want to have almost anybody to visit our website regardless what stage of the buying cycle they are in.
That's why I never exclude parked domains and error pages from my content campaigns. Traffic from those sources can be pretty productive so why exclude it.

Anyway it's not uncommon that content traffic performs better than search traffic so I don't care about paying more or less on content than on search. I just started this thread to ask if I'm the only one who finds it more time-consuming to get decent amounts of traffic from content than search.
