Some interesting posting tricks for Craigslist

    Here are some "tricks" I see people using to post ads on CL today.
    Many people may know these already, but I am sure there will be a
    few people who didn't know and find it useful. Why not share yours?
    I really doubt we are going to make a dint in CL. They aren't stupid,
    they get spammed by hundreds of thousands of people day in and
    day out. They know the tricks people use. This list is by no means
    finite. I am sure there are plenty more out there.

    A very good way to make invisible text. Looks like it doesn't work
    with Jobs though.

    <span style="color: #FEFFFB; font: normal 0em sans-serif;">   The operation called for the two </span>
    Code (markup):
    This one is done to random/mix up the text.
    Just insert the different html code at different places.
    Example below:

    T<i></i>hi<big></big>s i<small></small>s a d<u></u>a<tr></tr>t<font></font>a-e<th></th>n<b></b>t<tr></tr>r<small></small>y j<big></big>o<b></b>b. Ve<i></i>ry ea<u></u>sy and w<font></font>e<th></th>l<big></big>l p<font></font>a<th></th>i<small></small>d. W<i></i>or<u></u>k r<tr></tr>e<b></b>mo<th></th>te<big></big>ly at y<b></b>o<i></i>u<u></u>r o<small></small>w<tr></tr>n c<font></font>on<font></font>ve<b></b>nie<tr></tr>nce and pa<u></u>c<big></big>e. Co<th></th>nt<i></i>a<small></small>ct m<u></u>e v<th></th>ia e<font></font>ma<big></big>il to a<small></small>pp<b></b>ly.<br><br>Th<tr></tr>an<i></i>ks
    Code (markup):
    This one was very creative. Jobs has a limit (or so I have heard) on
    the size of images they allow. Posting large images may increase the
    chance it is ghosted. The fix? Split your image up into 4 smaller sizes
    and post like this. Image sizes were 256x196 pixels.

    <table border="0">

    <tr>
    <td><a href="http://"><img src="http://1.jpg"></a></td>
    <td><a href="http://"><img src="http://2.jpg"></a></td></tr>
    <tr>
    <td><a href="http://"><img src="http://3.jpg"></a></td>
    <td><a href="http://"><img src="http://4.jpg"></a></td></tr></table>
    Code (markup):

    This seems pretty cool to get some baclinks. I don't see it really helping though when craigslist loves to 'ghost' most ads that are posted from one account. Can you suggest a good proxy that works with craigslist?

    Good information, I have just started getting into CL for backlinks ... however i don't think i will try these tactics as I get the feeling it will be more detrimental to me than not

    Hidden text, no. Looks like the best thing you can do with jobs is insert space down the bottom and then some random text. I've looked at a lot of job ads and they are more restrictive on the html code allowed. Also there is some rumour that if your IP doesn't match the city of the job section you are posting in you will get ghosted more. Not sure how true this is though.
