You won't find a reliable host offering that amount of space / bandwidth for free.

You'll need to start looking for paid hosts, unless you want downtime every single day, then go with a free host.

    Check out our website, www.electro-host.co.uk

Any good forum fetch good amount of bandwidth and it consumes 35 % of CPU if you are getting more than 400 Visitors+ No one can allow to use high bandwidth at shared server. it's required good VPS plan own dedicated ram etc. and no one is throwing free VPS server.

if you can use BB-Press it would work and its easy to installed but lack of features as you might have seen in world class forums.

What is using up so much bandwidth and webspace? If it's just the forum, I can't understand that, as SMF is small in filesize and from the looks of your forum, it doesn't look that active to be utilizing that much bandwidth.

its because i am going to be adding a wiki and article mod so that people can post articles etc, i have done some tests on my local hard disk on how much space will be used by generating articles.

And it uses that much bandwidth i think just because all my mates go on it regularly. but that's how much i use according to cpanel.

Edit: oh, i do have compress to save bandwidth enabled by the way.

you really need to be looking into paid hosts. you can try 000webhost.com but I am not sure if they give 5 GB space, i remember seeing something like 1500 MB

thanks for your suggestion, but i tried 000webhost, i just got "account pending review" for about 12 days then gave in.
from further tests on my hard disk i think i can sacrifice a couple of gigs storage.

maybe someone has a good free host when has about 2 gb - 3gb storage?

    Thanks

I used byethost about two years ago. It looks like they've developed well and now have a community forum open. The uptime was rubbish but I guess that was because I was naive to think it would be good for what they offered. I know of a few people that have skipped from the free hosting place I'm at to byethost.

You could try Free Web Hosting at x10Hosting (http://www.x10hosting.com). It requires you to login to the forum only ONCE every TWO weeks OR you can pay $3 so you don't have to login to the forums and this lasts for one year. The host is under going development at the moment with a new sign up process implemented along with a new website. This change has seemed to cause an extra load on the free servers with I guess A HECK OF A LOT of new accounts being signed up for and causing the load. The paid servers (which are cheap too) have a 99% (or similar, sorry, can't remember off the top of my head) uptime gurantee and there are hardly any problems with these servers as they are less densely populated.

You might want to check out https://www.nearlyfreespeech.net/, they're practically free(they cost pennies compared to anything you'll find out there, with no ads on your pages) with a great uptime.

Forget free hosts, they s*ck. Just go to the best hosting companies and compare the prices with each other, you could find good well-rated web hosting companies with a short review in my sig

    Hope that helps :)
