My site My Online Music TV was (I believe) penalized by Google. From 1st page to no where to be found. Can anybody tell me why?

It's a brand new site (I assume). This will happen. Keep building quality, relevant links...

You must be building backlinks like a spammer. You have been sandboxed and may be penalised too. Before that i should remind you to continue make backlinks. You will get out in 4-5 days as i was able to.

read my thread at 2nd-3rd page.

I don't think your site has been penalised. Use the site: command and you'll see plenty of pages in the google index for your site. I think your site is just new and so wanders up and down the SERPs.

If I search on google.co.uk for the words in you title - My Online Music TV - the BBC and MTV sites occupy the positions on page 1 so you're up against some stiff competition.

I object to that. Just submitting my site to social sites, I don't even backlink to other sites.

This is a new site, so SERP is varying. You have to a lot to have SERP.

The same thing happened to me also. Then I got few backlinks, and my site was again at the normal position.

It is normal. To check if you are reallin in sandbox do site:xxx.blogspot.com to replace xxx with your blog name. If your site appears, then you are not sandboxed. Youa re not penalized either

If a site was penalized by Google, some information will be shown in the Google's Webmaster tool. I am not sure.

Your site had a brief "Google Honeymoon". Meaning when it was first created had really great rankings, then dropped to oblivion. Happens with most new sites, just keep doing non spammy link building, new content and your site will slowly get back up there.

Is submitting to social news websites considered backlinking?

Exact same type of site as tubeattack, just a bunch of duplicate content youtube videos.

when you type site:myonlinemtv.blogspot.com in google, you still have 103 pages indexed so consider yourself lucky. If you push that duplicate content pagecount to over 23k like tubeattack did, with a 0% unique to 100% duplicate content site structure like you currently have (and tubeattack has), google will totally remove you from the index.

If you want to keep your pages in google, and continue ranking high in SERPS, you have to type unique descriptions of every video you list on your site.

The problem is Google sucks in all your data immediately and indexes it, you think "Great my site is working good". Then your pages get run through a more complex series of google algorithms to determine the quality of your content, whether it is duplicate, perhaps testing the readability of your content (Flesh Kincaid readability test), calculate your quantity and quality of inlinks to determine if anyone else thinks your content is important, and after evaluating all these things and probably alot more. Then Google came to the conclusion that your content is poor and your pages don't belong high in the serps (or perhaps in google at all).

Check your latest back links count against the older ones. If you notice a huge drop in link count then Google has discounted your links. Start good link building again.
