i was thinking about that but how would that help or messup my website's PR? if i have a serious www._site_.com, www._site_.com/forum and www._site_.com/store ... would it be a good idea to create directory._site_.com or www.site.com/directory or just don't do it??? All SEO specialist of DP, please help me decide!!!
I think that it would be of best interest to create your directory on a sub domain like www.direcotry.site.com, that would have absolutely no effect on your main sites pagerank.... If you were to use a sub directory like www.site.com/directory, then I would say that it may have an impact on your main URL's pagerank, especially if you link the homepage to the directory page. However I think that this would be of benefit to your pagerank value more than of any non benefit. One of the factors in googles pagerank is the number of unique pages in your site, so having a directory means more pages which should improve your chances of a higher pagerank. You can even setup an option to include the choice of link submissions to require reciprocal links in order to be approved for free.
