I seen some SEO experts picked Jomla before WP now why do they do that? What the benefits? What can you do with Jomla that is better then WP?
I do not use both of them I make all site by hand. But I tried to use both of them; and I think is J is better, for managing, developing site,...
For developing and running big sites with custom requirements, Joomla is the best.. But for running small sites, or blogs,or corporate informative website , Wordpress can also be an option.. SEO is the best with Wordpress. I myself is a Core Joomla Developer, but I must say,Wordpress sites take less time to get indexed and its catches SEs more easily.. Joomla sites also do it,but they are a bit late... Let me know,if you need more help
I use joomla for my customers' sites, and use wordpress for my personal ones. Joomla saves you time but has more bugs while using too many components or plugins. I love the simplicity of wordpress.
I agree with Joomla Developer. For seo nothings is better than wordpress. However joomla is not far behind. Still however if you wanna make full fledged website then joomla is way to go as wordpress need way too much customization for a normal website.
Yes Joomla is the best for that.. Joomla 1.5.10 + Virtuemart + Kunena But if you new to Joomla and you are not good at PHP ,then I wouls suggest you to go with Wordpress + e-Commerce Shop Plugin + BbPress. Again, if you are planning for a big online shop with large database of products, then go for Joomla.. Also, you can use us for any of your custom requirements or bugs or whatever...
Joomla is for the more advanced who know about site building and etc, Wordpress is more for new bloggers, who aren't that sophisticated with the area of configuring and etc.
If you want a basic content manager then use Word Press, if you want something more expansive use Joolma.
Joomla is used for more professional websites and wordpress is for newbie bloggers. Therefore both have different strategies to do SEO thing.
This was the problem in the earlier versions of the Joomla 1.10 but this has been shorted out in its latest version with many patches Joomla 1.5. Now there are many of the SEO Optimization tips which you can follow for joomla based site and it has become more Search Engine friendly now.
I'd just like to point out, that Wordpress scales for large/enterprise use very well. Wordpress is the best blogging platform - but it's not just a blogging platform. Check out Health.com. Pretty large site run on WP. So, the arguments for Joomla in this thread, are non-existent. Choose the simpler, seo-friendly, robust and plugable CMS. If you really need something to build a large site on - check out Drupal. Just my two cents.
My preference is WordPress, though that's because I like to blog more than manage a full-scale website. I've tried Joomla and have come to the conclusion that it's just not for me.
Im torn. I am currently trying to use both since I post on the blog and also provide substantial how-to guides that I want managed correctly. I believe there is something to incorporate them, but you have to pay for it. I still need to figure out how to organize my stuff correctly between the two.
Dude, dont go for Drupal. They are not user friendly. We worked on Drupal for 1 year now,but it doesnt come up in the market also.. Just go for Joomla or Wordpress. Thats it...
This is the most grossly uninformed post here. SEO.com & XXLmag.com were both made with wordpress. Are they unprofessional? Joomla has a better eCommerce capability than Wordpress. Other than that, Wordpress blows away Joomla in every way shape or form, from SEO to clean code to ease of re-design.
I use both depending on the project. However since the release of Wordpress 2.7 and some new and very easy to configure CMS Themes for Wordpress I am moving towards Wordpress on most projects. Joomla is a lot more work to set up. Wordpress doesn't do a great job of reorganizing existing information. Joomla is weak in commenting and the ability to assign a single text article to multiple categories.
