How to change the geography of domain for Google

I have a site on a domain org.
Previously, there was a Portuguese site.

Now there on the site about the USA. But the site is in google.pt and not in google.com

How can I force Google to change the geography of the site?

In webmaster tools exhibited Geography USA, but it does not help.

I am grateful in advance for your assistance.

 

If you're saying you've changed the go-targeting in webmaster tools, then you've done what you can for the time being (unless someone wants to correct me).

I would continue to add US based sites as backlinks which should help over time.

It is my understanding that these changes can take awhile to correct themselves.

 

USA has put up 3-4 months. It does not help.

 

the site has probably a lot of Portuguese links
just build links from American sites and wait

 

are you talking about SERP or index pages?

if you can find "site:your site" on google.pt then you shall be able to fine them on google.com

If traffics come from USA, the site will be changed to the geography of USA
