I'm not saying paid directories! There are many really high quality sites that do offer paid links, www.topix.com was one of them until recently added the nofollow tag!! If you do a little research you'll see many high quality sites that still offer do follow advertising.

yes, but I told about that particular case with yahoo directory.

However, there is a BIG thing which must to be clear here. Google don't prohibit you to sell links, but they advice you to use "nofollow" or to use a page which redirect to the sold links to avoid sending Page Rank and Trust rank too to those links. If you don't follow Google's rules it is possible to have problems, but as I said before, only if they find about that :)

Right. You can invest the money to bring legitimate traffic to your site rather than getting a berth in Yahoo!

I voted for "I’m not sure, but I believe Google penalizes sites for that." cause you can still pay for links privately and not get caught. There should of been a "Sometimes" choice in the poll.

It's my understanding that Google will somehow penalize the seller only (when they really have proof). How can a buyer be penalized? If that was the case, I will simply go out and buy spammy links for my competitors! Paid links to the buyer are in my opinion, discounted at best :p

    There's 2 options for links:
    1. Automated links (run by link building networks)
    2. Manual links (done by humans)

For 1st one Google punishes but for 2nd its impossible. For about a year Google launched human edited service for better search performance.

If u don't buy a link from any network, then I can't find any reason that Google can find u & punish u. Because the seller (from whom u bought the link) is not going to contact Google.

Your asking us? i thought your a link building service?
    I would say ...um YES

For the guy that mentioned "paid directories".... Doing reviews, proper titles, descriptions
advertising, and everything else that takes time & money....

Why dont you offer the products you sell for FREE? ...

They will get you!!! If you get caught. Look out for competitors finding out if you have paid links...they will report you. I know Google will remove sites as long as your claim can be proven.

I personally reported a site that had absolutely NO content and no links to external content and no links to support or comments or anything...THEY WERE REMOVED AND HAVE NOT BEEN BACK WITHIN 4 DAYS.

It's surely abuse Google TOS to buy or sell any links to and from.

    The simple answer is Yes.

The reality is Google generally does it using algorithms. They are constantly attempting to improve upon them, but depending upon how the links are purchased and displayed it can become impossible for Google to discern a paid link from one legitimately placed. If you are purchasing links this is an important factor to keep in mind.

    What is "CJ ads"?

As to your rankings fall, don't you think it's just a usual rankings dance?
