From today the whole world should boycott Google I only say this as we are now number 1 on msn for the term search engine optimisation http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=search+engine+optimisation&FORM=MSNH11
They are not first on msn here. I'm all for boycotting Google though. It would be next to impossible to get enough people that such a boycott would have any kind of effect though.
If Microsoft Adcenter would get their acts together and bring out some real competition (they have the money to do it if they wanted to) alot of publishers would switch. I have their ads on one of my sites and the ads look just like googles but they have nothing to do with my niche. Probably because they are in beta.
Google is useful but not many people know how it ranks websites. One day my page will be on the 2nd page of Google, than the next it's the 10th, the day after its the 5th, than goes to the 20th. I have tons of back links, update regularly, have rich content and good keywords and Google has no clue what to do with it. But on the other hand, I don't even get any links from Yahoo. I submitted my site and yahoo's "We won't be able to tell when your website will be submitted" is pretty annoying. At least I know my site is indexed with Google.
Buddy how much traffic MSN send you for the 1st position? And forgive me ( I also habitually use the same language as you ) -- Google or American pronounce/spell as Optimization and not Optimisation (which is very much British ) Accoring to this Google tool https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal search engine optimization has 301,000 - monthly average search volume whereas search engine optimisation has 18,100. So - I would rather go with the larger audience than ask others to adapt to new but old ( ) terms - and when I can prove the same - I would ask my peers to forget Google and pursue others. Cheers all the way -
I am English and only target the british market I have had people pm me to say I have mis-spelt the word...lol
Lol - I'm from a former British colony - so got u there. But - I was right -isn't? There is huge differences. If you want a case study for your clients - prove yourself in your own niche - in own geographic locations on Google too.. I'm saying this out of my own experience and case studies -- Please just check the data -- and there is a huge difference as of now like "Heaven and Earth" (never Liked Tommy Lee Jones like this movie - simply great Vietnam nostalgia). Once you can do that - and still you are strong on your this opinion - please let me the first to know it. Best regards John
John You are right, you have to master your own domain before moving onto offering advice or working on clients websites. I often wonder why so many people offer advice on the subject of seo, yet only a very small percentage have decent ranking on their own site. I have my own system, which is backed up by some serious hard work, The results in the last 8 months (google) For main keywords - some competitive, some not diversehampers.co.uk - page 1 phoenixmr.com - page 1 business-sale.com - page 1 sliqtools.co.uk - page 1 allieddetectives.co.uk - page 1 tridentinvestigations - page 1 bulgariasfinest - page 1 skillsprovision - page 1 acornrecruitmentsw - page 1 justadrop - page 3 sweetideas - Page 1 cookies-4u - page 4 westendevents- page 1 wheels2ride- page 1 4networking - page 1 cherishforgirls - page 2 quizquestionmaster - page 1 mysalary - page 1 aboutmybusiness - page 1 theprintedbagshop - page 1 posacrylics - page 4 londoncitylandscapes - page 3 aquaticcreations - page 1 thelittlethingsinlife - page 14 grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr You can tell which one is a cms based ecommerce website....lol
LOL mate - Although I'm not involved in your professions (SEO/Online marketing/Internet Marketing) -- I still keep myself up-to-date. The thing is (about bold words) -- most of these companies are very-very-very big fishes in the market. Lemme - tel ya one of my personal experience- though I'll never -ever reveal the real identity) Once I sold a link to one of the 10 biggest character/respected person in the industry. Their company used a website/company ID that is below average in the SEO/Internet marketing parlance. I hope yo get the hints. They are really big -and rank for almost everything. But when it comes to a bit unethical marketing - you will find therm use the run-off-the-mill company identity. Thats the truth & reality of search optimiz(s)ation or marketing.
boycott Google is not works, it will happpen when another new "google" come out and replace it. This is an open market, who do better, who own the market.
Interesting results. I have a site which ranks #1 for adsense optimisation but the keyword brings little traffic coz most of the world searches for adsense optimization.
Most people wouldn't switch because people are too used to Google. They have it printed into their brains that Google is The Search engine. Not to mention that most people have this association, that Google is good and Microsoft is evil. Plus Microsoft is known to f*** up so I doubt they would do a much better job than Google.
I only target the UK market I generally use the ranking of my website to validate the processes and systems we use
nah ! i cant i have adsense, gmail and blogger running with my account. lolz but seeing the title of this thread. I remembered History of india.
