TweetSeller is a UNIQUE idea with LOADS OF POTENTIAL!

When someone tweets that they are looking to sell or are selling something (any combination) TweetSeller lists their update on the website for people to view. TweetSeller also allows visitors to click a 'view & contact' link & reply to the corresponding post owner.

Also allows users to search for people looking to sell specific items like cameras, ipods etc

Each post has its own 'seller page' where the post owners username, real name, location, image & post are shown. An AJAX contact form is located under the post for viewers to use to reply (no need to type the @username or leave the site).

When a 'seller page' is viewed, the post owner receives an @reply eg: "@username We heard you're looking to sell something? tweetseller.com/123456789/" from twitter.com/tweetseller account (included)

Very simple idea that will always be updated and should allow people looking to buy something find someone selling it through twitter.

The site has been built using

* MySql (1db)

You will receive script + twitter account + domain name (pushed) via godaddy.com

Traffic: as of 12:10 (GMT+1) there have been 591 pageloads since launch on 18th march 09

Once its set up (just a simple upload) theres nothing else that really needs done, as i said, you could put ads on it, market it a little and just watch the traffic & money rise.

This is really cute but is there any violation of TOS with the selling aspect? I remember reading someone saying that people were spamming Twitter. So just want to make sure its not a violations.

Doesn't the term "Tweet" in your url and Website infringe on their copyright? They did copyright the term Tweet as far as I know

I'm sure there are, but they also weren't integrated with Twitter, look like Twitter, and basically copy what Twitter does.

If I started a website named "YummyWhoppers.com" that sold oversized hamburgers online, I'm sure I'd get an email at some point from Burger King's attorneys asking me to cease operation and take the website offline. It's infringing on a Trademark because Im selling hamburgers.

Im not 100% sure, I would just hate to see a fellow IM'r be out some money becasue they were either sued, or had to take the site down.

 

twitter links to numerous apps that use twitter and tweet in their name, it doesnt appear to be a large deal on their end.
