I am trying to find the best ways to market an arcade/gaming site. I know of a few, but I'd like help finding some more. Please post any good marketing tips you might know of for gaming/arcade sites.

Here are ones I know of:

1.) Digg and similair sites: (Playable webgames area)
2.) Social Bookmarks: (Furl, Blinklist, Stumbleupon, etc...)
3.) Free and Paid Directories: Solicitations and Announcements folder
    4.) Link Exchange
    5.) Gaming Blogs (non spam)
    6.) Banner Exchanges:
    Moregamers.com
    Arcadebanners.com
    Gamesbanner.net
    Gamerflow.com
    Gamersbanner.com
    Gamerscafe.net
    Arcadesponsor.com
    Komodobanner.com
    Arcadetraffic.com
    Moreplayerz.com
    Gamertraffic.com
Funpageexchange.com (more of a TEXT exchange)
    7.) Arcade Topsites(probably don't do much good...not sure):
    Arcadetoplist.com
    Arcadetopsites.com
    Top100pcgamesites.com
    Arcadesitetalk.com/toplist/
    Top100gamesites.com
    8.) Freebie Sites
9.) Adwords and similair ad agencies
10.) Purchase links on gaming sites
12.) Submit articles(not sure if this is good for arcades or not)
    13.) Press Releases

Please post anything else you might know of. Thanx.

Using YPN! with game icons next to your ads. People will click this thinking they are games, while you rake in cash:D

I applied to YPN, but have not been accepted yet. I don't think YPN allows that???? I do see alot of people doing that with images and ads....I'm sure they're making some good $$$. I would'nt want to risk losing my account.

I don't think the traffic from "Moregamers.com" is real...

I signed up and got about 150 or so hits in a few minutes but none of all the hits I got stayed on my site for more than a fraction of a second...

    Try contests.

For example, give away a free license key for a game for a person who wins a contest. Advertise the contest then everywhere on the net.

I have seen a lot of sites doing it. How to spread your link thru social bookmarks like furl etc.? If there is a backdoor to it, let me know :p

I think the original poster is asking for a site that has games for people to play and not creating games.

Yes, it's just a place for people to play games, get cheat codes and general info. However, I provide codes for people to add games to their own site. The codes work for myspace too. :)

And I have'nt found any tricks with social bookmark sites. I'm doing really well with one, but that happened naturally I guess. I tried digg, but only 6 people dugg it.

Keith, I'm doing better with arcadebanners. Tried them??

I don't trust this "moregamers". They emailed me in March with the subject "Stop using gamesbanner.net". Mind you I wasn't displaying the gamesbanner on my site at the time.

So they must have emailed everyone on the GB memberlist. This would explain their sudden boost in traffic in March-April.

    Just seems shady to me...

No more gamers is good, but you have to drive too much traffic to them if you want others drive traffic to you .

forum posting, post one of your top rated games you got on your site then everyone replys back with the score they got in the thread etc., just post a bit in the forum before you do it tho, will seem less spammy.

Is the above list mainly for sites that only have free games, pics, videos etc?
Or can they be used for say.. A mobile content site that has free pc games etc?
