I've started using stumble, delicious, Technorati and a few other similar type strategies, but after these what do you consider your best tip to generate new traffic and keep visitors returning ? The site is http://ecocrumbs.com, I think the content is good and very relevant to my blog's theme. I try to post new content everyday and use rich keywords. It's a Word Press Blog. Any help is appreciated!
Join forums that are related to your blog topic. Put your blog link in your signature. When you can, in a Reply, use a link to one of your posts like this.... http://www.learntoearn101.net/2008/12/ideas-for-promoting-your-website.html
Build backlinks and try and stay ranking for keywords to bring a nice steady flow of traffic, rather than quick fix short bursts from places. Submit to web directories with keywords that you want to rank for.
Make good use of "All in One SEO" plug in, and create original content, or be the first one to post anything that may be duped, press releases and so forth.
I get a lot of traffic form ezinearticles. I write at least 2 articles perday, they really add up after a while
I see that the best and targeted traffic usually comes from search engines. My advice is, to make your blog Search Engine friendly, and build relevant backlinks to earn good spot on Google, Yahoo & MSN.
. . . Write about what you know, what you are honestly very interested about. Write about something that will keep yourself wanting for more even after a year you know. Write for the visitors and everything else will fall in the right place. Ciao!
Unique content articles and submit it to article directories. also submit articles atleast 1 to 3 articles per day. SEO may help also.
I'm impressed with those of you who find the time and content to be able to submit articles on a daily basis!
I really want to try ezine articles, and probably will once my semester comes to a close. I've never had any luck with technorati nor stumbleupon, but I do agree that posting in forums relevant to your niche can definitely help drive traffic.
All of the other responses are good advice. As a professional online marketer for Fortune 500 companies, I can tell you that links and hits are what count. Building both of these is tedious manually. In your WordPress blog, make sure you have the sitemaps plugin activated, use platinum seo pack and in the settings add pinging services. PRC XML is automatically included in WP installs, but you can also add services like pingoat and feed shark. All of these automate notifying blogs and search engines of changes to your site which boost SERP rank. Visit my site Seagate Web Solutions for more free tips. It's new and I'm always adding. Post your questions and I can help.
