Header and Square Logo (Cute Mascot) - $50 prize + Earlybird bonus prizes

Hello Graphic Artists!

I'm always blown away by the talent in this forum...some of my best logos have come from DP and I wanted to start a new contest.

What I need: I need a square logo and matching rectangular header.

The Prize: $50 for the winner. $5 earlybird prize for the first two serious entries who get the ball rolling. (Earlybird entries must submit serious, original works.)

The product: Secret Code Math is my new product. It features fun Math Worksheets for kids. Kids have to decode the numbers before they can solve the problems. Check it out: Secret Code Math.

What I want on the logo and header: A cute animal mascot with a secret code theme. Use your imagination. A mouse with a magnifying glass, perhaps? Or another animal, so long as he/she looks cool. Maybe some numbers and symbols in the logo too.

Style: The logo and header should be very similar in style to my other product, Math Riddle Book.

Size: Header about 760x160; Square logo will be adjusted to various sizes.

Please note:

• All entries must be your own, original work. Please do not use clip art from other sites on the Internet.
  
• I prefer drawn, cartoon-like images. Please, no photograph-type images.
  
• Kid-friendly and cute is the theme.
  
• Professional is a must. Web 2.0 is a plus.
  

Submission: Please post all entries in the thread for all to see. If you'd like to just post the square logo for judging, that's fine. You can send the matching header after winner is declared.

Deadline: Contest ends Saturday, March 28, around 8pm eastern time. I reserve the right to extend or cancel the contest if I don't see what I'm looking for.

Payment: Prizes will be paid via PayPal.

The little mouse guy definitely has the cartoon factor and cuteness factor I was going for. His glasses, little hairy whiskers, and tie are all the kinds of details I love. Color scheme will fit nicely into the site.

I don't like the font so much, and I was hoping for something a little more animated appearance - rather than just a "standing around" mascot. Maybe he could be holding up his magnifying glass or looking around or something. Also, might you be able to add some numbers and symbold around him?

An excellent, high-quality entry! I can see that little guy working with some tweaks.

The turtle is definitely fun and animated - I like it a lot. He's definitely cute, memorable, and brand-able - which is exactly the kind of thing I'm going for.

The font isn't wow-ing me a lot. His shell has numbers (which is good) but not symbols. How about two symbols and two numbers? Or what if you put the a symbol/number key (like in the book) over his head and the words "Secret Code Math" on the bottom? Just some thoughts.

Katesrobyn - Wow... I like it - didn't expect a logo to look like that, but it's very funky, fun, colorful, and creative! I do like it. Only suggestion would be to find a way to make the words a little bigger - the logo will look great on the book cover and website, but it logo will have to be shrunk to about 100 x 100 pixels for advertising on other sites - font might be hard to read at that size. Otherwise, I have no suggestions at this time.

Wow... Zyndtel.... I like it a lot. I like the numbers and symbols in the background. I like how the mouse is positioned and snooping around. The letters are nice and big, so they should show up, no matter what size. No suggestions at this time. Nice work!

thanks for feedback, i made it appealing to the kids if you use it on book and other print materials it will be definitely saleable, it's vector..so won't have any problem in resizing it with still maintaining quality image.

Zyndtel - I like the new sketch! There are more numbers and symbols, which goes along well with the theme. The turtle looks great (as did your first turtle too). Definitely cute and brandable - love the running animation & numbers on the ground. Can't wait to see what he looks like in color. The font... still not big and bold and bright enough. Sorry to be such a pain with the font. Maybe use the first font you posted (bottom font - word MATH), but go for all caps so it matches Math Riddle Book font?

Katesrobyn - Much bigger letters, I like it. Very nice design - thanks for updating it. No suggestions at this time.


Overall - I love the three images that were posted so far. Hard to say which one I like best - Ugh! This is gonna be a hard one to judge!

My first attempt here

 

Otakatun - Wow! I like the design of the rock with the numbers and symbols on it - very secret code like. The font is big and bold - with shading and outline and color - I do like that as well! Panda is a cute idea, but he doesn't have the same friendly, animated cartoon quality that the others do. Overall, an impressive submission!

 

Thanks fireboat... this one I use mouse instead of panda.

I think this is for l3fty.

Anyway. Here I add some shadings. It is 100% scalable without quality lose. I can also import this to photoshop for color quality if ever it will be chosen. Thanks!
