Wasnt Worried But Now I Am A Little.

I started using Adsense back in Early November, my site was just getting started. Only made like $8 November so of course it rolled over. December my site took off and I made $175.00.

I have between 550-600 clicks since starting, I havent really read forums that much untill last few days. I know I had a few mis-clicks mainly in November when I was playing with layouts alot. (Id guess , I could of had upwards of 3-5 self clicks) Now I know you are not allowed to self click your ads, but am I almost certain to get banned even if 0.05% clicks were not "true" clicks?

I havent got any dreaded email yet, what should I do? I do know proabably all the mis clicks happened in Novemeber maybe 1 in december, should I just email Google and tell them to disregard all my November clicks? Id rather loose out my $8 for a few cents of misclicks than loose my whole account.

Email Google apologizing and explaining your mistake, they already know which IPs clicked the ads anyway.

You could email them and tell them what happened. Why lose $8? They can tell you clicked the ads...that is why you don't get paid for those clicks. I clicked my own ad like 5 months ago, and nothing happened.

Email them with an apology if it makes you sleep better. But I don't think they will ban you as long as you don't do it anymore imo.

I've read enough stories about this to see it go both ways. Some people have made a few clicks in the start of their AdSense lives and are still living healthy ones today (they're getting checks). :D Others haven't been so fortunate... and there aren't many who know the "Google formula" for the so called "click fraud".

I would send them an e-mail explaining your situation, but make sure you tell them that you understand the TOS (if you really do of course, hah). I accidently clicked once when I was browsing my site at "western gun mouse clicking speed" and sent them an e-mail immediately. About a day later I got an e-mail back saying something like, "We understand the accident. Make sure you know the TOS. And don't do it again. Thank you for joining AdSense." ... I don't remember how it exactly went, but it was fairly nice.

    Good luck, and godspeed! lol

I've accidentally clicked my ads several times when I first started using it. First check was mailed a few days ago. The horror stories about getting accounts banned over an accidental click are false.

Theirs a difference between an accidental click and click fraud.

I've only accidentally clicked on my ads twice before. The first time I emailed them and they told me not to do it again, but to tell them in case it happens again.

I can't imagine google employees enjoy reading about all the accidental clicks that people make, however... I imagine there are quite a few every day.

To prevent future accidental clicks, you might consider using the firefox browser and get the adblock extention and then tell adblock to block:

    http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js

You can easily turn it off and on when you need to see the ads.

Hope this helps in the future :)

Thats always better :) . In my opinion they will never ban anyone for few mistaken clicks. At least I never heard that happened.

I couple of months ago my friend clicked on Google ads 3 times using my computer while browzing through my sites (was in my favorites) while I was taking a shower.

I e-mailed Google and they just replied basically saying "thanks - just try not to click on them in the future".

So yeah, as others are saying - relax! :)

Why would you respond to a thread that's 7 months old?
