In this case with holding a contest we will not necessarily know whom we are dealing with when a winning design chosen. Therefore they will have to provide the artwork prior to any payment. This is quite normal in the business world and if any of you would like to send us a credit application we would be more than happy to comply. Regards, Anthony

Our main objective of this contest is not only finding someone who's capable of performing this design, but about acquiring a web designer for future work.

Personally I think all web designers are talented... but it's all about matching your skills with the look that we are trying to achieve for a specific project.

    Regards, Anthony

in the working world and for the past 11 years i have never created a site and gave the site to somone before getting paid.
I will usually take 50% up front and 50% once completed.
and if i create a site and they do not pay the last 50% i will usually take doen my design till paid.

eproducts- good luck with your contest but ravenx25 is right I am afraid. There is no design company that delivers first and expects payment afterwards. It has always been 50% up front and 50% on completion of the order. I worked in a big graphic design company before and this company worked with clients the like of 'Veet' - you know that famous women's product (that is if you know about it) and a few other well known clients. 'Veet' probably is one of the most profitable companies when it comes to shaving foam and bikini strips etc. for women. They 'always' paid 50% upfront to cover the time spent on the production of the inserts for their products. The rest is always paid at the end of the month or as per agreement with the company.

However with a contest, someone will show you their design and you should be able to see how looks etc. If you are happy with it, then you have to pay them before they will send you their work. What prevents you from buggering off with their work if they send it to you upfront? Now that is the question on everyone's mind.
