If I build a blogspot.com and add content regularly with NO incoming links (besides the ones that blogger gives you, if any) will my blog get a Page Rank?
That is not always correct. I have a website that has almost no incoming links. When I post content on a regular basis, it starts showing up on page 1 of google for its targeted keywords. I think it has a PR of 0. If it does have a PR, its not more then 1. ================= One thing about blogspot, google loves it. You can do some serious link building just by posting a regular update to your blog, and having a sidebar that shows up when viewing the articles. When I post a new blog, its indexed by google within an hour. There was one time my new post was indexed in around 18 - 20 minutes. Looking at my google webmaster tools, I am getting a lot of links from people on blogspot linking to my fourm. Maybe around 300 - 400 links, or somewhere in there. And all they did was add a link to my forum in their sidebar. So I started posting updates daily to my blogspot/blogger account. And now the links are showing up in my google webmaster tools.
Yes, if your content is quality and informative. People will link to your blog and it helps you to get PR
Why dont you focus first on how you will rank it? PR will just follow it when you arat ranking well in SEs.
thats true.. content is kind but backlink are super king some time .. getting backlink from higher page rank site... then it surely helps you ...
OK, here's the cheese. You're blogging, you are on blogger, you have the defaults settings. therefore you have backlinks blogger pings, adds your blog to various lists, feeds google, so yes, you automatically get some backlinks. And backlinks = PR. clear?
In my opinion both backlinks and pr are important. the best being backlinks with top pr. This will improve your site
