News out here in the channels is that the Italinan made a remark on Zidane Algerian community.....but more and more you replay the whole incident, there was nothing as such which lead to Ziadane act...i wonder when will he make a public statement..

The italian guy made a nasty comment to Zidane. That's why Zidane lost his temper. It was a provocative move from the italian player.
More about the comment that was made to Zidane will come within the next few days. Some say that the italian player insulted Zidane's mother. Others say that he made some racist comments to Zidane (Zidane is of arab descent).

although i dont condone it - its hardly as if its the first time professional sports men have talked crap to each other to put them off thier games - Zidane should have kept his cool and just brawled in the tunnel like the rest do

But on a serious note, Materzzi was WAY out of order calling him those things.. But Zidane is a professional he should have shrouged it off... remembers hes got thousands and thousands of young kids looking up to him...

I think people are being harsh on Zidane. Yeah it was a stupid thing to do but let's not forget that he came out of international retirement to help France out cos they were really struggling in their qualiying matches. Without him, they would never have even qualified let alone get to the final.

Everyone makes mistakes even the most talented and experienced players.

I hear talk that he may lose his golden ball award. This would be rediculous cos he was by far the best player of the tournament and indeed the best player of our generation.

 

actually Zidane is smart. Do you think he can have this much attention if he just won the world cup by penalty kick?
