I have never asked for reviews before. I am looking for your honest opinion about what turns you on and what turns you off about my sales page, and also for suggestions you might have to improve it. I have made a good number of sales from the site but I really believe it can do better and I want opinions on what to do. One thing I think is that the video might be too sucky. I have been looking at it andf it probably needs to change or be removed,.. Please assist http://offlineconsultanttoolkit.com Thanks Chris Endres
I hate the style of awesomessauce. And it is true the video sucks and doesn't provide any usefull informations.
I am not a big fan of looooong selling pages. I really click away if I see such sites. I mean, if I see always the same design, it is just like a trigger to close the site .. I know you want to sell me something.. "Hello, look what I have for you.. then some photos of people with a review", nothing against you but as I said, I don't like them in common. But maybe it sells, I don't know, never used such long sites. Beside this, the background is "sad", gray as the weather in London, look here for some cool Color combinations, search for kuler from adobe - read something about the psychology of colors, some colors are selling better howewer, you could leave this site as it is, if your product sells and people are loving it, your design is just perfect.. any design would sell ok, thats all, good luck Chris.
If your goal was to make it look like every other sales page, mission accomplished. I agree that I am tired of these types of pages now, there are just thousands of them and the good products unfortunately get grouped in with all the junk that has the same style of page with the centered squares, photos of people that I never heard of, or even know if they are real, and the "Buy Now!" and "Guaranteed" stickers I would separate myself from the negative aspects of " sales spam" and design it to look a little more professional. even for a sales page, it still looks dated. I also noticed that at the bottom you use a "gmail" address instead of an address on the actual domain...I never figured out why people do this when they have a domain. It just looks so much more professional using your own, like real businesses do. Like was said before, if you are making sales, I wouldn't change too much...you are getting the opinion of webmasters here..certainly not your target audience. I have a few sites that are not very pretty, but they pay the bills, so I am scared to mess with anything but the headers (which you really should change it looks very old, like 1997) Your fist impression is above the fold and it is not a good one. You have wasted a lot of space there. I also noticed that you don't show the product at all. Even if it's just a digital download, people like seeing a box cover, or something to make the product tangible. Right now I have no idea what I am getting, or how it will be delivered...is it an ebook, is it all PDF's, is it a script ? What is it ? If I was going to change anything it would be that. Use new images and I really don't understand the "awesomesauce" thing...I would lose that....at first I thought you were selling some kind of new Hot Sauce...which I probably would have purchased
Your site looks like every other scam/ebook offer. Make it so that there are multiple pages and make navigation to it to make it more appealing. Spread content out and it will do better in the end.
Good idea. But I think the video in your site is not working properly, it disappears when clicked on the play button, check it..
I know when you ask for a review you are going to get negative comments just because some folks are that way. I really appreciate all your observations a lot. I am reading from most people that it looks like an "outdated" sales page,.. as in oldschool. I thought this was an interesting observation. What I would really like to do is completely escape the whole formula salespage approach and go for my own style of sales page. If I was to make it the way "I" personally like it, it would have a short bolded black title up top and look like a professional document. No pictures (except for the pic of me at the top), no bolded or colored text. If I added testimonials it would be paragraph style with the name of the author and a star next to the name and a resourse reference at the bottom of the sales page noting the authors salespages and status. That is what appeals to me as a sales page,.. any thoughts on that?
First, I would recommend changing the font style of the words" awesomesauce!" It doesn't give your website a professional feel. In addition, I would try to utilize the entire webpage space. You're only right now occupying the middle frame, which is making your webpage longer resulting in viewers having to scroll down more. It would be best to have all your important key points addressed in the space of the webpage that is immediately seen upon arriving at your site.
yes that sounds better, when I see a site like that I cant hit the back button fast enough, you are on the right track, keep it simple.
I thought the same way for a long time. and I do believe that would be the best way to go. There are certain aspects that are necessary to convert. people are still very visual so you have to appeal to that to keep them interested. Images are very important ! People like to see the product. I think the long style is dated, but I don't think you should reinvent the wheel too much. I started playing around with landing pages lately, of course it's not for my own product, but I tried to divert from the "spammy" look, you can check it here, maybe it will give you a few ideas...by the way it's built on word press. I try to pattern them after the way people are used to seeing products in everyday life..supermarket, and television, and there are still certain things you have to keep...like contact, privacy policy, and some sort of "act now" special offer seem to work for me. You have to use color, and images to sell. You will have a hard time converting with just text and unfortunately you cannot make it look too simple, because with out a brand name, it won't look to credible. Testimonials (if you have them) are still good, people like that for some reason, but you don't have to have a whole bunch,a nd don't list them without photos, next to one with photos, that doesn't look like something a big company would do. You need to come up with a logo, a product image, and match the colors throughout the page. I know picking color combinations is hard, especially if you are challenged in design like I am..there are free color wizards all over the web for designers. I try to stay away from yellow and red (unless it has something to do with the price, or a discount) and get to the point with the text, you don't have to draw it out...people like to get to the point while still getting all the information, especially when it comes to sales pages. You should even get a little style to your buy buttons and make them universal throughout the page...one thing I noticed about yours are that it is an Amazon (or looks like one) shopping cart button, and you have to scan the whole page to get to the first buy button. You can still make it colorful without making it spammy. but certain colors just portray spam page and I would stay away from them. I already mentioned the thing about the 'gmail" address, sometime little things like that will turn people off and make you look like some guy sitting at home, like I said, it just doesn't make since when you have you own domain. Anyone can get a gmail account and that takes you from "big experienced company" to " just some guy". I just wanted to add that your most important part of the page is above the fold..that will make or break you. Without something to grab attention, people won't make it to the bottom of the page to the buy button. There is where you should give a preliminary explanation of the product, the benefits, and a photo of it at the very least. For your product, I might recommend that you use your header for a product image, on one side and your photo and contact information of the right. Contact info with a phone number is huge ! You should let people know right away that you are also available by phone.
