Hi All, I'm new to Affiliate Programs and not exactly sure how they work or how to actually place the affiliate link on my site, but I'm keen to learn. I'm looking to setup well known and quality affiliates with our site www.getfiles.com.au who share a common interest in content similar to that on our site. Any advise would be appreciate.

You're looking to promote offers on your site through affiliate programs? Simply look into affiliate networks such as cj, linkshare, marketleverage, etc. to get started. You can also find companies and specifically look for their in house affiliate programs as well

basically every time someone clicks on your affiliate ad and completes the requirements (whether it is a zip code submit or actually purchasing a product) you will receive a commission off of their action.

placing the ads on your website is not much different than placing adsense ads on your website except you choose what ads/affiliate programs you want to place

i use neverblue and that has gone quite well for me...but they don't really have much related to file downloads...for that you might want to check out zangocash.com...if that isn't what you are looking for just do some research on google

also check out my "500-5000 per month" link...submit your email there and you will receive a free guide and frequent newsletters with useful advice on affiliate marketing..its what got me started and has helped me to be pretty successful

Affiliate marketing is a great way to make passive streams of income once you learn the ropes of what you can and cant do. Clickbank will accept almost anyone, some other networks are harder to gain approval.

You might want to look into http://www.paydotcom.com/. I know that they're more affiliate friendly than Clickbank. Check them out...

One of the most important things about affiliate marketing is choosing good programs to join.
Joining the right programs will put you on the road to success.
Makes all your hard work worthwhile. I wish you the greatest of success mate. :)

Thank hbl, thanks for the pointers. Is there any way to find a good, trusted and appropriate affiliate program with evidence of success?

Hi,mickeymcg. There are certain criteria to look for in order to differentiate the good from the bad. Here are some points to help you choose.

    1. Products should be well targeted for your market and of good quality.
    2. Do they have a valid offline address? Check out the company carefully.
    3. What % of commission do they pay, 30%-50% is the best. Do not accept anything below 20% as it is not worth it.
    4. Tracking system - this should be in real time and accurate.
    5. Be sure they offer good, quick customer support.
    6. You should be paid at least once a month and the minimum payout should not be more than $100. Also be sure that the company has a convenient method of paying your commission.

I highly recommend you join MoreNiche Affiliate Program, I'm really impressed with the resources and tools they give, it's so easy to make money with them. They are giving away up to 45$ for new signups as bonuses!

I started promoting poker affiliate programs they payout over $100 per sale, it just requires a little more work than normal non gambling programs but the rewards make up for it.
