Hi, I have a website that is divided in many sections and subsections. The first section is the name of a city (rome, milan, florence, ecc) and the subsection is something like (clubs, restaurants, concerts, ecc) Now I want to place some links on other websites but my question is: which is the best way to index the page www.mywebsite.com/milan/restaurants/milan_restaurants.htm? I need to link just the home (www.mywebsite.com) or I need to link the exact web page? Note: the page I will link my website from is a page that talks like, in this case, restaurants o restaurants in milan I hope I've been clear....
Make sure that the navigation on your main site page is easy and clear enough that a visitor can go straight from mywebsite.com to mywebsite.com/milan/restaurants/milan_restaurants.htm and other individual pages within; then link directly to your main site page on other sites. This can be tough, especially when you have a lot of inner pages, but it'll promote your site better in the long run. For example, some of your visitors might have an interest in restaurants in Milan and other places as well. The easier you make it for them to see that you offer information on those other places, and the easier you make it for them to navigate to those other pages--the more likely they'll be to visit them. Thanks for the advice, but I think that what you say is closer to website usability than search engine optimization... I think that my website respects you guidelines, the visitors can easily navigate through all the sections, but I want to know which could be the best way to index my website. All togheter by linking the home from related websites or linking on section by one? Thanks
