If you are looking for a way to make money online you should consider buying wholesale products and then resell the products either on your own site, Ebay, or classified sites like UsFreeAds.com A great site with a lot of products you can use is www.rightwholesale.com If you have any other ideas on how to use wholesale products please post them here....
high risk of not selling stuff. If I was going in to that area I would do drop shipping for sure. Returns can be very expensive.
Every business has returns, there is not real expense in it...plus its a tax write off ..... I would agree if you buy too many different products it might be hard to sell them all but if one were to concentrate on a niche it should be easy enough. I see so many ebay sellers with high ratings selling everything under the sun....wish I could figure out why & how lol...
Not a good wholesale website. That website: $11.25 - Shipping is extra; Amazon: $8.54 + Free Shipping; and I found a lot more examples where that website is more expensive. .
Personally im not into the wholesaling game. i have tried to dabble in it previously and then resell on eBay but by the time you broke down all the costs and time put in it just wasn't worth the effort. Like stated in the previous reply if I had to do it again then dropshipping is probably your best bet generally speaking, unless the product is very small and light.
I was an eBay Powerseller (have dropped down to regular merchant due to my lack of interest) and am an Amazon storefront merchant. I ship direct and use drop shippers for a wide variety of PC and network cables. I have my own private sources for cables which are much, much cheaper than the typical drop shipper site charges. However, even I have problems with the "big guys" on eBay and Amazon. They simply buy huge volumes of products and sell them for less than I can buy them for myself (wholesale...I have a retail sales permit). It is a losing game to try to drop ship or even ship direct any of the products that others can get just as easily as you by selling them on ebay or amazon. You might be able to so something with your own ecommerce site if you have a way to drive targeted traffic to your site. But forget ebay and amazon. They are long past the day when a small guy can nudge in with a "me-too" product. The big boys will undercut you and wait you out. I have seen it happen dozens of times.
Actually I have found a few niches on ebay that I nudge the big guys profits, but they are products that are dynamic in nature.
Of course, I was speaking in generalities. There are always opportunities in any selling situation, but for the most part eBay and Amazon are very tough to break into with "me too" products that can be easily purchase from multiple sources. But I am curious to understand what you mean by products that are "dyanmic in nature"?
