The top speed on Nano is 60Km/h ... that way, you can invest just a little more moeny and buy Maruti 800 with top speed of 130
Let's see how it is when it hits the road. I am sure it would be an interesting car and its a revolution in the making.
The Tata Nano will initially be available in three models — the Nano (base model), the CX (mid-level model) and LX (top-end model). Booking forms will be available at SBI, Westside, Croma stores and, of course, 400-odd Tata Motors dealerships Booking forms will be available for only 14 days To begin with, only the petrol engine version will be available. The Nano should crack 60 kph in eight seconds and will have a top speed of 105 kph The Nano will weigh 600 kg without load The Nano will have only one spare tyre and it can be used to repair only the front tyres, since the rear tyre is of a different size. However, the car can be driven slowly even after a puncture (and should be repaired as soon as possible) The Nano CX model will have air conditioning with a heater The LX model will have power windows, central locking and fog lamps The Nano will come with a warranty of 18 months or 24,000 km source: http://news.in.msn.com/business/article.aspx?cp-documentid=2061153
Some of the important features are missing but then what else can you expect from such a low-priced car.
Around $2600-$2700 mean around Rs 1.35 Lakhs for the basic model. My views- the car's way too small, not bigger than a Bajaj Autorikhshaw
It was on Zee news, first lot of only 9 cars is ready with red carpet at Parsi Gymkhana. The general booking is starting by around mid April. Actually I have already to I-10 and Santro, thinking of booking it.
