    Hey guys, found a pretty good review of Chitika. There is also an interview included. It's in the middle of the review.

    Hmm. interesting i didnt know that Chikita does that. With that being said though, Adsense does create pretty relevant ads (on my website), so what really matters to me is the conversion revenue to me (the publisher) and from what i hear, adsense is still slightly higher, and has a bigger advertiser base. So, how they get to that point of deciding what my website is about is really their business not mine.

    From the review, chitika only show ads to user coming from search engine. Many sites doesn't have user coming from search engine. I didn't find DP by search engine. Look like you wouldn't get anything from loyalty visitors.

    I can only talk about my niche, the gaming niche.

    My CPC together with AdSense is around 10-20% lower than together with Chitika. I am getting 90 percent search engine visitors, so I am monetizing them with Chitika as I obviously earn a lot more.

    Yes, AdSense has relevant ads and that's the key why they are so successful. On poor content sites however they aren't able to achieve as relevant ads as Chitika, simply because Chitika analyzes the search string instead of the content.

    Loyal visitors are important of course.

    Yep it does.

    The problem are as said, poor content sites. Look at youtube, the videos aren't surrounded by a lot of text. The only thing that helps the AdSense crawler is the video's title and perhaps the description. That's however not necessarily relevant. They can't scan the video. Thus they aren't able to show relevant ads.

    Chitika in contrast scans the search string the users used to access the website. By doing so they are instantly able to identify what a user is interested in. The only disadvantage: You can show 100% relevant ads only once.

    Chitika only works, like you said, if a person preforms an onpage or offpage search. It's really relevant since it targets the search strings.
    When a person does not use a search engine to get on the website you could instead show google ads, that way there is always an ad at that spot. However you really want the search engine visitors to click the ads, else you could be smart priced.

    Btw, I don't think you want your "loyal" visitors to click your ads all the time :p

    Exactly, letting your users click will only result in missclicks, no conversions and a drop in CPC.

    How much are you guys making of chitika? I just started the other day, and have got my first click but it hasn't shown the revenue amount yet. I will be happy with an average of .15 c per click...

    It will take up to 3 days to display the revenue.

    I am making around 10$ per day on my gaming website, which is pretty good considering the niche.

    What's your niche?

    I have signed up chitika a week ago and have implemented the code. Since it's very new, I only made a few earnings. My adsense eCPM dropped almost 25% and CTR drop 1-1.5% while my adsense earning is dropped 20-30% a day. I have checked the chitika channel traffic report and i get 5-6% of ctr with eCPM almost the same with the new eCPM of my adsense while the earning is only 5-7% of my adsense. My traffics are mostly come form search engine. If i make a simple calculation, my total (adsense + chitika) earning is only 80-90% of my my previous adsense earning. I will consider the use of chitika in my website and hope I will have a good explanation on my decision whether i will still use chitika or not next week.

    Edited :
    My Chitika click is 15% from adsense click;
    My Traffic source come from various countries;
    My Chitika impression is 15-20% from my adsense impression;

    Although a bit dated, this thread is still relative. They've also released a new system for naming your price on cpc and released a number of new size alternatives for the Premium ads. On certain days I've also noticed my cpc going up.
