Cant take off

    Hi,

I've just started AdWords on my e-book site but I cant take off - no impressions at all for the first 2 days. My current bids are 0.10 for search and 0.05 for content. However, I've set only 0.50 for daily budget. I have two keywords only running.

Any suggestions what to do? Higher CPC?

    Thanx.

Is good to begin slow as you sell ebooks

but try to move from 2 keywords to 100 keywords.

in beginning you need to research the keywords that work and the keywords that dont work for your site and your need to try it to know.

Use the keyword tool for it.

Also you ads has not been approved yet for content network ( 3~7 business days), you may experiment a traffic increase after it.

    Thanx for tips.

I am also thinking about promoting the site with forum signatures first - should I target forums by the topic (lets say I write about Blogs and Linux - so blogs and linux forums) or should I go with general sites?

    Well,

I have just 2 e-books in my store so it's a kind of hard to use 100 keywords... but, I got about 15 from the keyword tool so I will see...

I'd suggest targeting forums by topic - this will put your link in front of a targeted audience, and hopefully lead to targeted traffic.

Also, although I agree that your daily budget is low, I'd advise caution with regard to raising it. You'll probably need to raise it quite a bit in order to realize any significant profit, but it's easy to get in trouble quickly with AdWords. Learn at your own pace, and as you do, you'll find it easier to raise your budget and turn a larger profit. :)

Hm, I think so too. I am getting to know that it is really a kind of tricky to get started with AdWords. Althouth the Google web interface is quite sophisticated, it is not yet fool-proof I guess.

Definitely true. If you find that you're struggling, you may want to experiment with one of the "second tier" PPC engines. These typically have a lower CPC, and may make it easier for you to "learn the ropes" without breaking the bank. ;)

No, it's not, but thanks for paying attention. ;) I'm just a peon Allfeeds Affiliate Publisher. I don't really have any of my own sites that I need to put in my signature at present, and since Allfeeds has done a lot to help me out, I put their link there as a way of "giving back". They're a solid company, and their Support is very responsive and easy to work with, so it's a good place to start if you decide to go this route. :)
