Yeah, seriously, who cares? I mean, next thing you know, people will start exploiting webmasters obsession with visible PR. Feeding into it only helps the exploiters, imo. I mean, yeah, who cares if no one will trade links with me because my links pages haven't gotten PR yet? And so what if the last PR update was buggy, and I'm waiting to see if the PR7 text link ad I bought is really a PR7 text link ad, or a PR2 in disguise. It's not like the web actually affects the economy. It's not real, you know. Just ask my friends when they complain about me being on the computer too much. -Michael
So you build site only to sell links?? Michael Repeat after me, Toolbar PR is Nothing, absolutely Nothing... If any one buys link only on PR, he is the foolest Webmaster IMO. Buying a High PR link wouldnt neccesarily help you in higher ranking.
I'll bet millions of dollars change hands each month because of pagerank. This is probably not going to change anytime soon.
It will go like this for a while. People will buy text link. Just like some people who think that link exchange is the only way to get ranked higher in SERPs, PR will play the same role.
Ooo, could you? I'd also like to know how long until one of my sites is out of the sandbox and... eh, some lotto numbers or something. Whatever you can manage.
Are you saying that PR basically doesn't help, even if its generated from relevant, high quality incoming links? Or just that it doesn't really help when the links aren't relevant? Just trying to work out how you guys are seeing it.
One of my major sites disappeared yesterday from the index when the URL was typed in the search, site has over 2000 pages n pr5, however is back in the index plain as day today, that strange enough for you, appears strange things be afoot.
Well i seem to be receiving upto 80 % more traffic today and yesterday compared to the same days 2 weeks a go, no pr update as yet though, however positive signs
Just a few suggestions (I run Joomla myself): Purchase and install the Joomla At Work Joomla SEF patch. I personally think the extended version is worth the 9 bucks, but there is a free patch as well. You have a lot of junk in the header, plus out of the box Joomla shows some docs as being expired when they are not. Use a source ordered template. This is a must, take a look at your source code and see how far down your body text is. Do a quick search at joomla.org to learn how to modify the core. Right now you don't have any H1 tags because of the way the core presents things. Hope this helps...... Morty
Matt PR is not a factor of your ranking, however its an outcome of your linking strategies. Often with a great no of backlinks you would achive high PR, but if those links are not relevent or you are not wise enough to craft your anchor text then it wont help you in the ranking at all...
