CTR increases suddenly

we are constantly optimizing our site, changing/adding content, and monitoring it's appearance on search engines (specially msn).

it's slowly climbing on msn, and is doing particularly well recently for some highly searched terms (as told by overture). it's only been a week since the traffic has been climbing.

normally our CTR would peak at 10%. but today we have a 45% CTR! that's a huge, no? 3 clicks came from the same page. i didn't have adlogger installed uptil now, so i can't say if the clicks are coming from the same IP. i have installed it now, so lets see what shows up.

is this reason enough for me to ask google to monitor my clicks? or let them know about this activity? what, in your opinion, is a sign that something is amiss so that google should be notified? maybe this clicking is occurring because of the sudden traffic increase because the site is scoring real well with msn right now?

plus, i was wondering - google has nothing against 3rd party ad click monitoring software, does it? like adlogger and stuff?

thanks in advance for your responses :)

Sometimes an increase in CTR like this is simply the result of better ads being shown on your site. It normally won't last more than a day or two unfortunately.

I doubt there's any need to be concerned. If there is a problem, Google will already know about it ;)
