I made this site and now I dont know how to promote it. I don't have money anymore.
What you suggest me to do? Maybe facebook or myspace somehow?

Does anyone have experience advertising via myspace, paid advertising by banners?

The best bet for you would be Myspace if you don't have much money. My strategy would be to "friend" as many artists that are relevant to your site as possible. Make sure they have very active profiles and then comment on their page with a banner/link to your site. Even though this has no SEO value, you will get noticed by other fans of those artists when they are on their page.

I'd definitely go with Facebook over Myspace. It's a lot faster of a site and more marketer friendly. Myspace would work too, but it's such a turtle lately.

Social bookmarking and blog commenting would be another good way to go about that.

I'd also make your own blog on blogger.com (High PR blog highly favored by Google) and make several Squidoo pages all pointing to your site and your blog.

There are a lot of websites like this all over the internet. Myspace, Ilike, Facebook, ReverbNation, and so on provide the same thing plus more. If you are looking at it from a talent finding website like Taxi or other genre specific websites then they also are established. My advice would be to start VERY small with a few people and work you way up. In all seriousness though if you have no music connections or internet marketing savy to a pretty high degree I don't know if I would pursue this. I have seen this websites pop up by the hundreds daily but it comes down to musicians want to go to where there are already a lot of people who will view there music instead of just having to spam a link around of a random profile on yet another music profile website. It can work if you add some features but I would check out ReverbNation or Soundclick as they are kind of more geared towards what you are wanting to do.

You can promote your music site with Squidoo lenses (pages).

Build several lenses with each focusing on a different aspect of your music/website.

You could even add some music videos using the YouTube or Videos modules.

Squidoo is free and you can build as many pages as you like.

Start a youtube channel and post video reviews of the songs. Besides the video reviews, have someone join you, do a news reports on the state of the music industry.

Yes, create a Myspace Music profile for your site and add as many music profiles as you can.

My recommended steps to follow are:

    1) Create a Myspace Music profile

    2) Surf Myspace, locate and add popular Music profile that have large friend lists

    3) Go over the friends lists of the profiles you added (I recommend at least 100 profile pages per day) and add profiles that are relavant to yours. (This is a "never-endeding" process)

    4) Send out bulletins to thank everyone for accepting your friend requests and include some info on said bulletins

    5) Start a group on Myspace and invite everyone to join in and start topics in the message boards.

    6) Repeat steps 3 & 4

Now, there are many social website like facebook, friendster, myspace, bebo, etc. You must try to promote your website there. And, you must update your website content regularly as often as you can. You must put the newest music and the most popular music too in your website, or maybe you could put the lyrics, then people would be interested to visit your website often.

I'm also starting a similar site, will be hiring a full time promoter to contact people directly through PM. and find new artists. Don't know how effective it'll be.

If you like, we could talk on MSN/Yahoo about this, please PM me your ID.
