Hey Guys, I'm going after the keyword Adult Flash Games. I'm planning on using the tags to randomly add adult flash games. I'm just curious if I can get away with creating 3 links so that each word would have a link. The links are to the search page to find games similar to that tag. Or would it better if the whole word adult flash games be a link? Or will it not matter since they are internal links and not back links.
Use links on the words you want to be found by - for example, being found by flash will get you nowhere due to the competition and non-relevance. Put links on the long-tail keywords that will lead to conversions.
If you are targeting "adult flash games", you should use that exact phrase as the link text for a single link most of the time. <a href="yourURL">adult flash games</a> The link text carries far more weight in how you rank for a particular keyword phrase than does the PR that gets passed on the link. Yes, having 3 links would pass your page 3 times as much PR. But having a link text of "adult flash games" will help your rank for that term FAR more than having link texts of "adult", "flash", and "games" in 3 separate links. You should also use variations of the text some of the time but to a lesser degree like "flash games for adults", "adult flash video games", "adult video games", "flash video games", "adult games", "flash games", and "video games"... It's a good idea to vary your link text, but focus mostly on the phrase you want to rank for. So if you want to get the best of both worlds, figure out how to have 3 links on the page each with different link text but similar to the one you want to rank for like: <a href="yourURL">adult flash games</a> <a href="yourURL">flash-based adult games</a> <a href="yourURL">adult flash video games</a>
"If you are targeting "adult flash games", you should use that exact phrase as the link text for a single link most of the time." I agree with this. Google will add more value for that specific phrase if you link with all the words together. People searching on Google do not search the keywords separately, but in one phrase. It is better to optimize for specific keywords than just keywords alone. The more keywords you have in one phrase, the less competition you have.
With a new site, you have no chance to do seperate links. The competition is to great. I would use the three word link.
@ Catanich. Thank u! Would u mind to go to my web icalculator.net and give me some suggestion about its keywords. In fact, my site is two - day old, but I don't know how to choose right keywords. All keys I wrote are so very popular, so it's even harder to my site for being rank 10 in google search Poor me. Moreover, my site does not work in IE, only work best in firefox. Anyone here give me some advice to fix it? Thank you a lot. PS: Sorry, I'm new, so dont have privilege to post live link.
