Hey Guys, Just curious to whether when you link to an external site; do you use the NoFollow tag, or leave it as a Dofollow? Are there special circumstances where you decide between the two? Or your the conservative type and always stick with NoFollow? I would appreciate if you can throw in your opinion on this For anyone that's interested - here's my $0.02
LOGIC! The reason is the purpose why i added the link; Do I add it to let the other guy get some PR? Advertising? Free service? Selling links? So many factors :Â)
I just leave everything as default so straight links are follow. The only no-follow I use is on my blog comments which are no-follow by default.
Well, DoFollow will encourage people to comment on your blog. However, you will have a tougher job in moderation, since you will viable to comment spamming... So, its good and bad.. That is for you to decide! My 2 cents here
Do follow or no follow both link are important, because no follow links are increase your site traffic but not count back links in search engines, and do follow links are increase your back links and traffic, this such ways do follow links are much better then no follow links.
Yup, they both have their pros and cons, but personally to create a community; I think you have reward the people that contribute to your site in some form Just my 2 cents on this mini-sub-topic Yup the spam comments always hit the roof on Dofollow blogs but we haven't really do a lot of managing, Mr.Akismet is just doing such a great job
For the most part I always use dofollow for any site I link out to. However, I sometimes use nofollow when linking between my own sites. I figure that if I like the other site and it is related to mine it should get the benefit of the link.
Depends on the site, its hard to comment unless you know the context. For comments, usually NoFollow. For sites im linking to because i like, always DoFollow.

My blog is dofollow. Means, all comments are dofollow. Links in the post are dofollow too except for paid post link and featured links. It is wise to give nofollow attribute for links that we are getting paid for to avoid breaking google's TOS.
