Hey there, I am wondering if it is possible to send Google a county name and get the latitude and longitude for that county returned? http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?q=#address#&output=xml&key=#GMAP_KEY# Code (markup): I am use to passing full addresses using the address variable above. Is it possible just to send a county name? Thanks for any information. Sincerely, Travis Walters
A country is often much wide ................ You want to get the coordinates of its center? I don't think it's possible.
Of course it is possible. I have the average latitude and longitude of states, so why not counties. I also have the lats and longitudes of cities and zips.
They seem to be doing it here http://www.satsig.net/maps/lat-long-finder.htm Nigel Edit: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...et+latitude+and+longitude+with+google&spell=1
