I find it amazing that some people are able to get say 3,000 article views and one article I saw had over 15,000 views in 3 months. Q: How is it possible to get so many views? I tried to copy one of the best articles in my niche and used similar words but only achieved say 150 views (not bad) in 1 month but its amazing how to take it to the next level. How are they doing it? Thanks.
I suppose you are talking about pageviews? I believe there are other articles (or blog posts) that even made better. One good reason for this is tons of back links, and one way to have them is link baiting. An intriguing post title can help a lot. Here is classic example - Which Came First, the Chicken or the Egg?. As of this moment, there are 940 comments (and will still increase, for sure) although I am not sure about the pageviews. Considering that that post was published last September 25, 2007. If your posts are amazingly great and interesting, bloggers will link to it...
Well getting a large no. of hits depends upon a lot of factors. You can;t just name one- Niche,Article Quality, Author's Credibility, Blog/site/directory its posted to,Timing,Promotional Efforts etc. Most of the time its a combo of all these, unless one of the factors from the above list is so strong to carry the article to stardom single-handedly. For example- anything written by a Seth Godin gets a lot of views, no matter what niche, what site, or, what time of year. Sometimes punchy titles get a lot of attention on Digg and the next thing you get is a lot of curious traffic. Or, simply your niche is that popular. Sexuality/relationship articles on ezinearticles normally get a lot of views. But if you are starting out for a long-term success-Content is still king! This is the bottom line. Nobody cares if you are a Seth Godin if you write crap. So if you were to rate factors making an article/blog post succesful- content comes at the top of the list.
This is all about marketing. The quality of article is important but your friend networks also important. If you use digg, you will found all the popular article submitted by member with alot of friends. Make yourself popular first before you can get tons of traffic from article site
Excellent point. I think you should be more concerned with your URL click-through rate and not so much the amount of views. If someone only gets 10 clickthroughs from 15,000 views you're still better off having 150 views if you get say 30 clickthroghs with that. It's not about the quantity of views, but quality of content and laser-targeting your audience.
It depends on article headline and uniqueness and depends on keywords, if it is a high search then you might be getting views in the next coming month, keep your fingers crossed.
it depends upon a lot of factorsat, but this is the point: you need put you articles in a good site which have a high pagerank.
