Just a lot of competition and they have to be new to the website you are promoting. There are no rules against you promoting them in the U.S. as far as I know.

The market is saturated just as any worthwhile money making market is.

Still yet you can make an ton of dough being an poker affiliate, if you put the time and energy in it that is.. An fly-by hit and run site will not make it in the online gambling niche.

It's only difficult if you deal with or promote shady networks.

I have experience with poker affiliate programs.

You should focus on poker rooms that accepts US players, hence you will
get more earning potential. The very best poker rooms, in my opinion, both as a player and an affiliate, are Full Tilt and Poker Stars. Full Tilt has the best software and tournaments/games variety. Poker Stars is the biggest poker room, in terms of players. However, I don't like the Poker Stars software, it's slow and not very user friendly. Full Tilt is the exact opposite.

Both poker rooms offers great affiliate programs...both CPA and long term revenue.

    I hope this was helpful.

It is a tough niche to get involved in.. but there is still room to make a decent income from it.

You really do need to know about Search Engine Optimization [SEO] though... do you have a decent background in that?
