Maybe this is not most appropriate forum, but it is search engine programming related forum, so I decided to post this here. I've found the following formula for calculating (predicting) pagerank: Minimum rank is 1 (initial). Maximum is infinity. I don't know the scale. The following should be true : Any opinions?
There's a lot more to it than that. If I have a PR8 site linking to me, but it's completely unrelated, it won't give that much benefit while a PR7 that IS related, would give a higher benefit. You may have the simple version fo it, but that's not the whole formula.
I want to calculate PR not the real benefit. I think that related/unrelated link issue don't have influence on PR. What is PR on your site? I guess it is at least PR6, if the link existsted before February.
Google Page rank determination formula is changing overtime, they are frequently changing their PR ranking formula, the most recent formula that I came across is; PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + … + PR(tn)/C(tn))
It is the oldest possible ... orginal published formula . Anyway, I did one tool which predict PR based on the formula above, it should be at: pr backlink analyzer and prediction
These might have had some merit before the last update. But last update give sites with 0 links with obviously 0 PR, PR 5's and 6's.
I tried for my website for future prediction PR. When compared the results its totally irrelevant. Some increase my PR some no changes. So to conclude there is no perfect tool to predict the google PR.
born2win did you run my prediction tool at online utility ? It is not perfect, as I said it predicts PR based on backlinks toolbar PR. It uses modification of original PR formula. If you haven't received good results with that tool please send me (email or message) the name of URL or site you have tried and got irrelevant result and I will take a look.
