Scammed by Godaddy?

Hello everyone. Someone just bought some domains, some of which had private registration. Some minutes after he bought them, he pushed them to me, but the private registration was lost!! I checked before the transfer, and they were private. Today, about 14 hours after the transfer my name is in there!!!

no,I don't think my title is misleading. The point is that I was offered a free private registration, that was lost after the free godaddy push! and btw, there is a question mark, so I'm asking whether is this a scan or a standard procedure

according to your first post, someone else bought the domains and then pushed them to you? private registration is probably under their name, i don't think something like that can be transferred. then i could be wrong.

    take it up with godaddy.

You can not transfer private registration when you push the domain to other user... you need to again buy private registration from godaddy...

Godaddy does not scam, regardless of how competitors make out to be. I always found them professional and timely support. But they can be irritating sometimes because of back and forth correspondence. In your cash, push does not transfer private registration. private registration is only for the original domain purchaser. If u believe that is error, take it up with their support. If they allow it, you can get the free private registartion for the pushed domains.

whenever a domain is pushed from one account to another in GoDaddy, before pushing there is a checkbox where one has to accept that certain services .. will be cancelled. It is a normal thing cos privacy protection is usually not transferred in GD account

why should godaddy scam you? They make millions each day why would they bother with $10 fees?

The private registration is offered by domainsbyproxy through godaddy isn't it? this is seperate and also a seperate purchase, even though you can combine it with a domain purchase, so impossible to sell together i imagine.

Always be 100% of what you can pass onto a buyer before offering it, a domain push is only that, transferring ownership to the other person, private reg is completely different.

As mentioned, Private Registration doesn't get transferred over to the new buyer of the name when a push occurs. It is only for the original person only.

Because the "a free private registration" botton is so well positioned to improve godaddy's "convertion rate" .
(Just like webmaster change the adsense position to improve "convertion rate".)
Last year, I paid $6.99 for "free private registration" too .
lol . Anyway there is no free lunch .
