When I've checked my Reddit posts using Firefox NoNofollow addon, I've seen that the reddit posts I've made are nofollow whereas other posts I've commented on - marked as perma-link - are dofollow. Does anyone know what you have to do to get your reddit a perma-link and if it's worth it in terms of seo backlinks?
Social Bookmarks are worthless for link-building. Trough they have dofollow google dosn't access that page where your links are.
An interesting observation - one that I've been wondering about. I've been submitting to a number of social bookmarking and social news sites in the last month or so and - so far - only Mixx has shwon up in the backlinks. My Diggs can be found in Google if I put the text I use in quotes but they haven't shown up in any backlink check.
The last i knew, you needed to have at least 2 upvotes before your submission changed to dofollow. Not sure if they've changed that though, they're starting to get a little more aggressive in regards to spam. I haven't checked lately, but my old links used to show up, so i'd say yes, it's worth it. Just how much it's worth it is debatable though.
although Reddit and other Social Bookmarks will not help much with PR and link building, it brings very good traffic.
I've checked through Reddit and this seems true. Would anyone be interested in exchanging the odd Reddit vote or 2?
I used dotSlash - I looked at the code - found out that it was NF. Somebody told me it was - pretty ticked - oh well.
Either get 2 more upvotes than downvotes, or get hundreds of karma on your account. If you have like... over 500 karma, you'll get regular links no matter what the vote is on that particular submission.
How do you go about getting people to vote for you on reddit? There don't seem to be any user groups to join or any ways of inviting friends.
I've just tried to search on reddit for my 2 reddit posts - I can't find either one of them under the sections I posted under using any keywords or even the complete title although they still show up in my private posts. Does this mean that they've been banned/deleted?
It is something strange in reddit we are using reddit from so many days.. We have not occured this kind of problem. Anyway social bookmarking helps for backlink and position and traffic ... so its always worthy.
I only use social bookmarking for quicker indexing and traffic. They arent that helpful for backlinks.
Talking about social bookmarking websites, the best adventage is the traffic that this kind of sites provides, isent it ? And about SEO, Helps a bit, normal or in high proportions to the SERPs ? Because most of this sites are in english, so it is very complicated to obtain traffic if you make a web whit a non-english language and maybe for me it is better to invest time in other forms. Thanks alot !
You can get dofollow links from Reddit. If you post a comment on Reddit with your link it will turn into dofollow after a few upvotes. The number of upvotes, that you need to turn links into dofollow, varies based on a variety of factors, like post age, upvote/downvote ratio, etc. Five upvotes are often enough. Even I have managed to get dofollow links from many posts.
