    For me best technique is Submitting blog or posting comments on authority sites of our domain.

    social bookmarking works best for me....there are a few list of dofollow SB sites on DP.

    it works well in the short and medium term.

    if you submit to not-so-popular SB sites, the links will get buried deep after a few days.

    the positive boost because of the SB links will gradually decline.

    I find it a good way to get permanent deep-links with keyword-rich anchor text..:D.

    yet to be convinced by social bookmarking, I reckon it would only really work if your content is great. You could get the links then anyway.

    forum posting, article writing and blog comments work best for me.
    In my opinion directory submitting is worthless unless it's DMOZ or other quiality ones.

    I also use sharaholic since it is easy to choose which sb you want to use. For online bookmarking service, socialmarker.com seems to be the leader in this field.
