    Hey Guys,

What do you think the best colors for an online gift shop are? You can visit my site with my sig link. I am looking to find two new colors to re-design my site.

    Thanks,
    Nick

Yea I was told by many to either go white and blue or white and red...

I was thinking something along these lines :

    NEIGHBORNICKS
    or

Red and white is a good combo, but make sure the color doesn't "bleed"... In other words, make the red a bit grey-ish and just a tad dark. Pure red is an eye-strain to some people.

I agree that white, red, or blue are excellent choices for your site.

Depends on what you're selling ...

I usually use grey and blue for a professional look with some gradient graphics.

I think in general you might want to stay away from fluorescent font colors on dark backgrounds period. They strain people's eyes and make them run off your site faster than they got there.

Take notes from some of the most successful companies like amazon.com. Go to their website right now and take notes on their layout, fonts and color schemes.

You'll notice that most of it is simple black text on white background with color accents for tabs and navigation buttons and occasional color for the product titles. But never a dark background with bright colors.

If your customers can't easily read your descriptions and all of the neon effects make them hallucinate your site won't sell much.

Yes it depends on what you are selling. Here are two color themes I like:

Gold, Orange, Blue and Mustard Yellow, Brown and Red.

You can try light blue or light pink with white.
