Hi In the last 2 years I got lots of good rankings for lots of sites. My strategy was to optimize pages and submit sites to about 2000 directories. But in the last 3-5 months my new sites couldn't get good rankings. I think submitting to low quality directories doesn't help anymore. I have to 2 people working for my sites. What should I ask them to do from now on? article directories submission? blog posting? something else?
have your read this post on warrior, this might give an idea on what method to use. the 100+ untapped link building guide visit.
Free directories have become entirely worthless. They dont even show up as backlinks half of the time...not to mention, most new directory owners give up after a year or so, and shut the site down. The best thing you can do is keep writing articles and linking to your site.
if you are on a competitive niche, just doing directory submission alone will not get you the desired ranking. basically you need a mixed link building campaign utilizing several link building methods. come up with a plan and follow through over the next 3 months period which will give you good result
Instead of worrying so much about all these other sites (directories, blog comments, etc.) why not focus more on your own?
I have pages optimized and unique content on most of my sites. I need a better link building strategy, to replace directory submission.
Articles submissions and Social links will help. Most directories don't help anymore look for only quality directories that you submit to(sadly 9 times out of 10 they won't be free)
In this time u cant cover with only one Link building technique, U have to do mix link building. U can do article directory submission + Blog Posting. This is very effective coz U can get Back links and Traffic bought from this technique. Also U can do Blog Comments Posting for some Quick Back link.
Directories used to be a great source of one way links, lately some still provide some link value but I wouldn't base my link building on them alone. Try article distribution, bookmarking, take advantage of your RSS feed if you have one, comment on blogs related to your niche and make sure you take advantage of all the social media websites.
Directories are getting obsolete and ineffective. That technique is not enough for your site to rank on very competitive keywords! Anyway, I suggest blog comment on do follow blogs and forums.
try bookmarking & press release and chage the meta tags or try to build rss for your site and submit that all these things might help you
You need to be linking to better sites with a high PR. Free directories do not rank and will not get your anywhere. Focus on places that Google likes, consider YouTube, making a video, or Blogger, make a free blog, another Google product. There are lots of ways to get high ranking page rank to link back to you, just go out and look for them.
You'll get a good bang out of link directories that have a ranking if you are able to be on their front page via a featured link and good articles on the good sites always help.
Yes social bookmarking does help. But you should also try some blogging which can help to get good amount of traffic.
social bookmarking doesn't provide huge lift unless your in a real "niche" market or have long tail phrases, 90% of the social bmark sites are no follow now anyway.
Firstly, you need to make sure your On Page Optimization is intact. Then, get a few High PR related websites to link to you. Any PR from 5 will do a good job. Besides, you can check my signature for relevant information. Hope this helps. Br Seo_genius
