Probably best if you avoid logging in to Digg directly from DP - for a while at least till they finish sweeping. It *has to be the way they are picking up who they think are Digg-spammers - anyone who is referred to Digg from a link on DigitalPoint will show up in their stats and will get flagged as a spammer if they are logged into their Digg account - whether they are or not. I wouldn't have thought it would make much of a difference to Digg if a few webmasters at DP Digg each other's posts - the most I think I've seen anyone get is about 30 Diggs. If it's a crappy Digg-post it will get buried in no time by the Digg-zealots and purists who haunt Digg as much as we haunt DP Considering all of the shit that gets submitted to Digg on a daily basis by everyone and their granny's fat, old, labrador dog, I don't really see what the big deal is. Of course this may be the beginnings of a move by Digg to clean up the overall listings and a quick way for them to get rid of the spammers, er, I mean, the over-enthusiastic webmasters from DP.
Well if you ever runned a forum, you now that advertisers often push down the quality more than they push up. I suggest that those who got banned and still need to post can follow my example, switching to shoutwire
E-mail support and have a nice argument with them. When I was banned for a stupid thing like this (in fact Koolaidguy spoofed my username) Jay replied to me and unbanned me.
Why shouldn't digg have the right to IP ban people? If digg sucks than some competitor will take over. You can start your own if you want. I'm going to Shoutwire Considering the total amount of free traffic I have received from digg throughout the history, I wouldn't complain.
http://www.hidemyass.com Should be able so sign up with another account if you go through a proxy server
I can see why Digg wouldn't like that article, given the last couple of sentences. I wonder if they have something that automatically flags for inspection any articles that get submitted with Digg in the title? Are there any banned people who have neither posted in that thread for Digg requests, or who have never solicited Diggs for their own sites? Can we have a list?
you guys can complain all you want but you abused the system and deserve to be banned... just like the myspace freaks
I guess when you're the one who has been banned you may see things differently. If I ran Digg I'd have banned some of the people mentioned - but, of course, I don't see that I crossed the line. That's a normal reaction. BTW: are you joining WDANZ [more]?
i was banned actually... a few months ago for asking for people to digg my site and all poeple who digged it got banned also, over at namepros forum
