Questions about SEO hosting

Discussion in 'Google' started by GoWFB_SEO, Mar 18, 2009.

I have read topics about SEO hosting and here is the what i was told

1: If you have two sites make them on separate C-class ip address

2: make them on different nameserver

3: then it will be safe to link to each other, otherwise Google will not value the backlink and even penalize your site

    My question:
1: usually how much cost to get a bunch of different C-class ip? when i get a "different ip", is it guaranteed that it is a different C-class ip?

2: Different nameserver means using different service? If say i host on GoDaddy, it does not matter how many ips i buy, it will always be the same name server, is this correct?

    Thank you for your help

Its part of Google's patent that they can rank on this. However, I don't believe its something you have to worry about.

I believe a website does well to have a diverse set of incoming links, from a range of different PR and ip addresses. However, you can get that pretty easily by making thoughtful posts on various forums and article websites to get that diverse set of IP addresses that your site needs to rank well. I don't think the gain you receive from going through the hassle of hosting all your sites on various IP addresses outweighs the extra work of setting it up. This is in like 99% of the cases.

That being said ... if you have like 100 different blogs and you are going to post about a website you are promoting, you would greatly more benefit if those 100 blogs were on different IP addresses (maybe even different registration info) ... but why bother? That already exists, its called social networking ... use squidoo, blogger, wordpress, etc. etc. to get your diverse IPs, don't worry about the benefits your interlinking websites would receive if they were on different IPs.

    Hello...

Seo hosting gets expensive... get a hostgator dedicated server or reseller account if your not a directory owner

If you have 15 or so websites on the same IP address i don't think it will harm you much in the Google rankings. And i very much doubt having a unique nameserver will make a differnce.

I have set up a VPS, it was about $300 for a year but i get 10 free IPs and additional IPs are only $3 a pop, if you are worried you should look into getting a VPS/Dedicated.

If you're serious about building sites and earning decent revenue from them, I highly recommend starting out with a VPS for hosting. You get so many benefits from having your own virtual server, above and beyond the ability to easily manage multiple sites on separate IPs. Good luck! :)

Google dont penalize your site for being in the same server, at least not if each site has its own reason for exists or its "own life". Make both sites with unique content and everything will be okay.

Google doesn't penalize website; but, it devalues the link if it comes from a similar ip address.

yes, it is possible that you can get different c-class IP from same name server, like Godady or hostgator etc.

If you need full control over incoming links to your main site, you need seo hosting. Once you build your themed site network on seo hosting, you can rank for almost any niche.
