Does directory submissions and RSS submissions count as backlinks? I've used one of those directory submitters to submit my links and I know the bots have visited, but they don't show up as backlinks. I've submitted them several months ago. The same with the RSS feeds. The one I use submits to feedage, blogdigger, etc. but so far no links. Does this work or am I just wasting my time doing this? Thanks
Do you use yahoo siteexplorer to check your backlinks? ...they should show up pretty quickly on yahoo, however if you checked on google then it won't show nothing. Maybe one or two links but it takes forever for google to show your backlinks.
Some time ago Google decided that directories will not give "link juice" for websites, i.e. they are not taken into account as backlinks. Yahoo is more loyal for websites so it show all sited linking to target site. Yahoo loves directories. Google likes websites but not directories and especially natural links. Btw you may get those links commenting in blogs with "DoFollow" feature.
Thanks guys. I did just check with Yahoo and the other websites I have linking to them show up, I submitted them around the same time. Sat through about 2 hours of directory submissions, submitted to about 30 rss agregators and rssmix, but none of those are showing up. How long does it take before the links show up? I submitted them about 2 months ago. Thanks
Directory links will be shown during 1-3 weeks from date of register, I think... In regard to RSS directories... I tried to submit there but never see a result... It looks like SE does not index RSS feeds... you may just read in reader.
