http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=css+gallery&btnG=Google+Search&meta= First result... http://www.microsoft.com/typography/css/gallery/entrance.htm SWEET!!! A CSS gallery from 1997?!?! By the GODS of design themselves (sarcasm here) Microsoft? Google's weight on aged sites really starts to show when you begin looking for tech related things...finding a review is so difficult now, you end up reading things about the beta when the final version was released years ago
Yep. Sometimes I come across forums that are old and rank well (top 3) in G for competitive keywords/keyphrases, even though these forums are defunct e.g. with the last post occurring in 2002.
It's SVZ's fault, he should learn how to search properly to get relevant information, there is nothing wrong with Google
homeloans1, you're a prick. i'm suprised you haven't been banned yet. in other news... the one that faired the best for me was Yahoo, MSN was pretty bad as well
i always use the link that's in bottom at 1st page or the links that appears on page 2 if use google search engine....
Excellent article with nice links from it. I think that one reason why is that CSS galery from Microsoft.com highly ranked, is because microsoft.com is very trusted domain.
It is, but it's also almost a decade old...that's like 100 years in internet time And I don't see why Microsoft would have anything to do with a CSS gallery, they're not a design company, unlike...let's say Adobe or Macromedia's galleries
ah, ya. there are so many ocassions when you need some new, latest, most updated information and you end up with search result few years old.
Add "2006" to your query . Or use Google "advanced search" with "Return web pages updated in the past year".
That's just the thing though. A good search engine should be somewhat intuitive. You shouldn't have to go to 'advanced search' or type in unexpected qualifiers to get a good search result for a fairly normal inquiry.
age based queries is something i think MSN has done right. Google can do it in personalized search, but I think MSN does a better job still.
